How low is your low spec?

Hello comrades.

So, there is this friend of mine. He's a top quality player and he actually does a lot of high pve end game content and PVP.

THO HIS SPECS ARE LIKE INSANELY LOW. I don't even know how he managed to set up the game like that. Does anyone else plays like this? Because I can pretty sure that even my calculator can run ESO like.

The funniest thing about that is that he's actually a very good player that can easily run most of the content. He even have flawless conqueror with many toons.

Your going to blow the world view of the min maxers all out of shape by suggesting that max stats are not required to be successful in the game.

I know that my english isn't that good, but II actually meant his PC specs, not his toons specs and even posted the video so you guys could check out ESO with Duke Nukem 3D's graphics.

This specs aren't that low considering he's running the game on a high resolution.

The fact that his screen is blurry means he set the sample rate to low. That's not unusual for PVPers. Video lag is a huge thing in Cyrodil or any spell spamming light show involving a hundred players. Lowering settings to boost FPS as high as possible is very common in these circumstances.

OK, since we are talking hardware one thing that really helps is to limit the number of apps that run with Windows at start up. For one, no 3rd party applications are required to run with Windows at start up. So, use either MSCONFIG or the Task Manager and uncheck every single app on the Start Up tabs. Go to Services, hide Microsoft Services and disable most of those. Note, if your running Anti Virus, there are some things you will have to have Start Up automatically so keep that in mind. Me, I don't run AV, just MS Anti Malware and leave it at that. I also never open email attachments unless I know they are safe, and even then I do that on a machine that I can re-image at will.

Anyway, the less stuff you have running in the background, the less your hardware can be and have good game performance.

I don't agree with you about AV, I prefer to run that in the background and keep the free MBAM anti-malware for manual scans. That said, when you refer to "MS Anti Malware" I'm not entirely clear what you're referring to. I use MSE which is an AV.

I think you've also omitted two key factors for PC performance - first, don't run addons unless you really can't cope without them (especially constantly refreshing ones like trading and map addons), and second, play in fullscreen with no other windows open in the background. I never have understood why some players need a dozen browser windows open with constant alt-tabbing while playing a game. If I want to check something once in a while I log out first or use my other computer.

Also, while it depends on the content you're doing, performance can degrade the longer you play, so rebooting the game every couple of hours is a lot better than playing for five or six hours without refreshing the game. The same goes for your computer, turning it off at least once a day is better than keeping it on all the time.

Finally, serious gamers should really be running Windows 7 not Windows 10, and using a wired internet connection rather than a wireless one.

For ultimate potato mode, set the game to fullscreen and lower the resolution to 640x480

You can change back to Windowed fullscreen if you want, and then also have subsample quality to low for something like:

This way, you get to keep the Window size at 1080p with a stupidly low resolution!

Well, I did not tell them to not run the AV.

Me, I have not put an AV program on my machine in over a decade. Other than this

I had too many issues with AV programs and my machine to ever want to deal with them again.

That application doesn't provide any ongoing protection, it analyses what is currently on your machine and if it find certain specific malware infections then it removes them.

I've gone through 3 PC's since ESO launched......

Not specifically for ESO, just because I had the opportunity to upgrade so did.......

The first one was not really very capable at all but I learnt what I could get away with and still look at the screen and not go "Yuk"

The second was mid range and still is, couldn't run on max but was very acceptable...... also Win 7 :)

The newest and my prized possession runs everything maxed, it barely touches CPU, GPU nor RAM usage.......

It's Win 10 which I haven't had an issue with but I often just sit back and think "wow!" ESO is very pretty on max. :o

    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

Missing this game so much. Moved to a different country and had to leave my desktop behind.

My "low spec" is a laptop with an Intel HD 3000, packing a wopping 64mb VRAM. Couldn't launch the game if I tried. Really hoping to get back on ESO someday though... truly the best online/multiplayer experience of the hundreds of games I've played (in my opinion).
