Cadwells Gold

I wanted to see what would happen, so my fault, but...

I finished the quests necessary for Cadwell's Gold before getting the actual quest.
Now I've got the quest, it's not moving forward / completing, I have to say I expected it would complete straight away as the quests were all already finished.
Anyway, now there are no NPCs I can talk to to start or finish it.

I'd like to have the quest finished, so I can clear it from my quest log.
Is that possible? Can I do it myself, or will it need someone to act server-side?


* * * Let me add, I have done the following:

- I have taken my character to Cadwell, he simply says, ''What kind of trouble have you been up to? No don't tell me...'' The only available response is ''Goodbye''. He has no Quest Target above his head, even when my active quest is Cadwells Gold. There are no Quest Arrows anywhere when Cadwells Gold is my Active Quest.
- I have all Main Quest / Silver / Gold quest-related achievements in my achievements log. Every single one.
- I have logged in and out multiple times and it makes no difference. Cadwell's Gold is still there and there is nothing to do with it.
- I have tried X (Abandon Qust) but the Silver and Gold Quests evidently can't be cleared that way.

I am open to further suggestions!

First, as far as I know, a character must complete the Main Quest before the character can receive the Silver quest from Cadwell. The character must then complete all of the quests in the Silver series before that character can receive the Gold quest from Cadwell. So I assume that your character has already accepted the Silver quest from Cadwell and completed that series before receiving the Gold quest from Cadwell.

Second, you might need to log-out of the character to the Character Select UI, then log-in on that character again, in order for the game Host to recognize that the quests which comprise Cadwell's Gold have been completed with respect to that quest.

Third, after all Cadwell's Gold quests are completed, your character receives a reward the next time that the character encounters Cadwell. So I suggest that your character find Cadwell, if possible, and see whether your character can begin a dialog with him. He is probably at The Harborage where your character accepted the Gold quest series from him. There should be, or could be, a pointer above Cadwell's head to signify that your character should interact with him.

Fourth, if you simply want to "clear" the Cadwell's Gold quest from the Journal, then you should be able to use the option to Abandon that quest. (It's a key-press on the bottom toolbar of each Journal Quest page.) I don't know whether it will become available again afterward if you abandon it.


It is worthwhile to recognize that, before One Tamriel was introduced, it was not possible for a character to enter any zone that is not in the Alliance to which the character belongs. So it was not possible to complete any quests in the Cadwell's Silver/Gold series, before receiving the Silver/Gold quest from Cadwell. While receiving the Cadwell's Silver quest, the player must choose the opposing Alliance in the zones of which their character will not be recognized as an enemy. Then the Gold quest series will be completed in the zones of the third, remaining, Alliance.

One Tamriel removed the restrictions upon moving a character from their home Alliance into the zones of the other two Alliances. Now it is possible to do as your character has done, whether the player deliberately or inadvertantly chooses to complete one or more of the quests that are included in the Cadwell's Silver or Gold series. So I do not know whether that has been taken into account while re-making TESO into One Tamriel.

In my experience, after a character receives the reward for completing a quest, then there is no way to repeat that quest -- unless it is a repeatable quest. (When a character accepts a quest, the Journal entry for it will have a notification at the top of the text that it is repeatable, those quests without the notification are not.)

As far as I know, all repeatable quests become available at the beginning of each day -- currently at 01:00 AM EST in the USA. Nonetheless, a character can receive the reward after completing a "daily" quest that was obtained during a previous day.

Whether Customer Support is willing and able to change the records for your character, I really can't say for this case, but I doubt that they will, whether they can.

Are you sure you finished them all? I would double check and make sure you didn't miss any. They all need to be marked off.

I've done many of those quests out of order and ahead of time on my characters and i never had any problems with them registering for completion.

I completed all the quests for the Gold before receiving wither the Silver or the Gold. Then I got the Silver Quest, it completed, then I got the Gold quest but I can't complete it because the first NPC is no longer in place and no other key NPC offers any item of dialogue that would allow the quest to be completed.

Definitely finished the quests, I have all the quest-related achievements for all three zones.

I've taken my character back to Cadwell, he simply says ''how's it going, staying out of trouble?'' or something, and there are no dialogue options.

I feel like this is definitely a bug, I feel the game should have recognized the quest was complete as soon as it was assigned to my character. I don't know whether this is done using achievements or in some other way, but I was extremely surprised that the quest didn't complete as soon as it was assigned.

Is there a way of tagging admins? I really think I need help on this from them. I have tried every solution I can think of.

@mojopixyb16_ESO : You can tag numerous ZOS personnel.

@ZOS_GinaBruno is responsible for the Patch Notes, and sometimes responds to messages posted in the forum, usually to disclose that the developers are working on a remedy for a "bug" (at least in this section of the forum, there are other sections, too).

@Wrobel is, unless I've been misinformed, one of the developers. But please don't tag him unless you have one or more useful and/or informative facts to share about how a feature has been implemented, which may or may not have anything to do with a bug.

Others whome I've seen tagged are @ZOS_JessicaFolsom and @ZOS_RichLambert, but I am not apprised as to what work they do for ZOS.
