Suggestion for AP boosting Consumables

First of all, I'd like to set the ammount of Time required to get to LVL 50 in PVE -> roughly 12hrs, (depending on the grindspot, gear, events ect.)

Those 12 hrs exclude CP's because most ppl already have more than CP160, and to Get to CP 160 goes really fast (CP160 because thats the Gearcap atm)

In Comparison to PVP this is just a fraction of the time required.

I would estimate the Time to Grind up to PVP rank 50 to be arround 1 Year
64,680,700 divided by 200'000 AP / day = 323.4 days.. ofc this depends on how hard you grind AP
(200'000AP / day means 200'00 AP in approx 4hrs of PVP a day) imo this is on the higher end for average players

That is a difference which in my honest oppinion is way to large. 12hrs compared to 1296hrs This is a difference of 108%

There are 3+ Events per Year which grants the Players 100% EXP boost and I can only Recall Midyear Mayham to be the Equivalent for AP / PVP and that is once a Year (and always quiet a horrendous lag, queue and disconnect party)

So my Suggestion is, that there should be a Potion / Consumable similar to Psijik Ambrosia /Aetherial / Mythical Aetherial Ambrosia.
The Consumable would boost the gain of AP a similar to the 3 different Ambrosia do for EXP.

50% Boost by the Normal Version
100% Boost by the Aetherial Version
150% Boost by the Mythical Aetherial Version

As Ingredients for the Constumables we could add in new Materials only purchaseable for AP in the Towns of Cyrodiil ( Bruma / Vlastarus / Crops )
( this would give the Towns a bit more meaning in the Game)

How to obtain the Recepies:
To get the Normal Version, they can drop as "parts 1-6" in the Golden PVP ROTW Geodes / whole Recepies can be dropped in End of Campain Rewards Geodes
To get the Aetherial Version, it could be added to the Golden, for a Fair Price (something like 2-5mio AP maybe)
To get the Mythical Aetherial Version = Aetherial Recepie + PVP Cypher (the PVP Cypher can very rarely dropp by killing enemy NPC's at Resources / Keeps and Towns)

So even if you'd be running a 150% boost, it would still take you 517hrs to get to Rank 50, which ofc is still a long time.
It would also benefit the PVE players which could Grind up to Skillline Rank 10 faster so they dont have to PVP as long as they do now.

    I think if something like this was going to exist it would have needed to be added early on in the game's life. Too much time has been spent in pvp by too many people to devalue it now.

    I agree that the grind to 50 in pvp is massive. It's far and away the largest grind left in the game. As mentioned, it's measured in months and years currently. Personally I'd rather see it an account wide rank (a level 50 pvp player doesn't suddenly become a scrub on a new toon) and seperate character advancement (skill points) from the rank in some way. That way the rank is a true show of what you've put into pvp for your entire account and the grind can be as long as ZOS feels they want to make it without locking skill points behind a year long grind for each toon.

    Whenever players think they have to grind to get somewhere I just keep thinking they’re missing out on the ride.

    Alliance Rank probably more so than other areas ... since the rewards are not that great except for a very small handful of titles, dyes, and achievements.

    That’s why these threads baffle me ... especially today when the AP gains are so much better than they were three years ago.

    You're comparing two things that aren't really comparable. The entire game - including all of PVP - is comfortably playable without reaching a high PVP rank.

    Fine as is. And a nice side benefit: rarely if ever see someone with high PVP rank who doesn't know wtf they're doing. Say that about high CP with a straight face.

    Edit: AP isn't just XP, it's also currency. Things that are valuable now would be devalued if AP gains were boosted this way. Not a great idea.

    Things which can only be bought with AP would quickly drop in price. Also this would make emperor runs rather interesting. Unless the boost in AP would only count for the earned AP pool and not be taken into account with the leaderboards.

    I would be more likely to support doing away with XP boosters. But I see why they are in the game. They allow new players to get into the thick of things quicker and lessne the grind a bit for new characters.

    Higher ranks in PvP does nothing to help you in the game. The PvP guild I am in when people hit a certain rank it is obvious in Discord that they are happy and excited to achieve that rank. We all have a bit of a celebration for them. Lowering the difficulty in achieving higher ranks would really take away that feeling of accomplishment.

    Exactly... it would mean a whole rewrite of untying AP from the levelling process and introducing a new pvp experience system, though i do think that maybe just add in one more AP event during the year would not hurt anything.

    AP boost consumables? Why not.
    But I would make them work different.

    3 tiers of consumables
    • Normal tier gives you boost to blessing of war duration by 200% (Blessing of war lasts 2h)
    • Superior tier gives you boost to blessing of war duration by 300% and +5% AP gained for 30 min after completing a kill enemy players/socs/temp/dk/war/nb
    • Epic tier gives you 500% boost to blessing of war duration and +5% AP gained for 1h after completing a kill enemy quest, + 5% AP gained bonus for 15 minutes after you capture a keep, stacking up 3 times.

    These would provide the PvP community with ways to stay more in combat and less in Cyro dungeons, and would promote keep fights more than cancerous zerging the same resource for hours.

    Each of these consumables should be either sold for APs, gained from rewards of the worthy, or crafted using the ingredients that would drop from random cyro delve bosses, as rewards for doing daily quests in towns or even better - as rewards from doing FG quests in Cyro. That would make players do these quests more.
    I think boosts that are in this magnitude would be more QoL improvements, nothing broken yet interesting addition to AvA AP grinders.
