Crystal Fragments proc doesn't work at all!

Someone please explain the mechanic of this skill morph before I eat my keyboard or something equally bad.
I've been trying to use the damn skill for several days, and it NEVER is instacast. When I see the skill has changed colour in my skillbar, I immediatelly press the relevant key, and I ALWAYS see the damn casting bar. What the hell? Am I missing something, or is it bugged?

That is really weird man. You can get the proc by using skills from the skillbar where your crystal fragments are slotted and when you see your hands glowing you can insta cast it normally. Never heard of any bugs with it recently.

So it won't proc from skills on the other skillbar? That's weird, because I'd swear I saw the icon change right after barswap.

Correct. It only procs from the bar it's on.

It's possible to swap away, swap back, and still use the proc. Or, if you double-bar Crystal Frags, you could proc it on one bar and use the proc on the other (at least, that used to be possible when the game was young; I haven't tested that for years). But basically it procs off skills on the same bar it's on.

That's right when you have the proc you can go back bar, come back and still throw it.

Look at your hands instead of the icon, and the noise. Perhaps you are mistaking the lighting up of the icon as you go that bar?

I am playing in 3rd person, so I don't even see my hands. Plus, I typically barely have time to watch my buffs running out, so keeping an eye on something else is completely out of question.
Anyway, I believe the slot Frags are in lighting up in blue is indication enough. Why it doesn't work is a mystery.

If you use a buff timer add-on it probably can show when the proc is active. Srendar's does that. I probably butchered the spelling but not at my PC to look up the spelling.

Also, for me it is easier to see in third person than first. But I really on the audio cue mostly.

Maybe if you posted a video someone could help determine what they problem is.

Just go 3rd person a bit to check what I mean at least you will know if its working. You definitely have the correct morph too right? (just checking)

Sporting your hands / hearing the proc is the best tell if I'm honest over looking at skills, becomes second nature in perhiperal vision

I use Srendarr's and it has the casting bar. What I have noticed is that the casting bar for that add on always goes through its motions regardless of if the frag is hard cast or insta cast. If it is instacast the damage is instant, but the casting bar keeps going even after the spell lands. Try testing it against single PvE mobs where you can do it very deliberately and see what the timing is of casting it, when the damage is incurred on the mob, and how the cast bar animation relates to those two things.

I don't watch my Sorc at all for the Frag proc. Just listen for it. When the proc pops you will hear it "ping". It's a unique sound in game for procs so you will hear it on other characters too that have proc abilities such as Power Lash on a DK.

Anyway, just listen for it. You have plenty of time after hearing it to instant cast it. Good luck!

Hm, I typically have sounds way low when doing dungeons so I can hear other people. This would be the interface volume slider, right?

So you think there's a S'rendarr bug at play here?

If frags launches as soon as you press the button but the cast bar still channels, then yeah, it would be a bug.

I get this, I always see a brief cast bar when even though it's procced. It's definitely a lot faster than when it's not procced so I assume it's just a visual bug.

There is a bug where even after clearly seeing and hearing the proc(Idk about the icon because I never pay attention to it...does it actually change? ) you will still hardcast frags 'cuz ZOS. They broke it a few updates ago, then nerfed it several times instead of fixing.

It's not THAT frequent though. I usually go by sound, that seems the least buggy indication. Or visuals - it's like super bright glow around your hands with magic stones flying in it. Or sometimes addon cue but it has been buggy lately.

You will see the icon flashing for the duration. If you use a buff tracker like Srendarr, you will also see the proc there.

I guess my eyes work well enough and I am not an idiot yet and I am indeed using the correct morph.

Just in case any normal people here were interested, it appears to be a bug in S'rendarr.
