I recently adopted 2 baby Khajiit kittens. They haven't tried to sell me their wares yet but I'm pretty sure one of them is a thief. Socks have mysteriously been found in his cubby...

One thing that really bothers me about Khajiit lore is that they never really make clear if housecats and Alfiqs are different species or if all housecats are actually Alfiqs.

For example:

yeah I've also wondered this about alfiq. For instance it seems that monkeys we see in TESO are not a different type of imga (or even imperial/redguard/breton/nord) so I wouldn't be surprised if there are housecats that are not as sentient as the alfiq and other khajiit forms.


Anyway I don't have any pet cats even though I love them because 1-I'm allergic and would need to find a decently hypoallergenic cat and 2-I'm vegan so my cat would have to hunt his own food or I would have to find a catfood that comes from "ethical" sources and idk if that even exists yet.

I have two little khajiits - Norwegian Forest cats. And yes, they do hang around me when i'm playing ESO (mocking me for being pants at combat...)

I thought I had gotten pet cats. However, in retrospect, I think I have somehow been acquired as "staff" by a few alfiq. Magic using khajiit would explain a few things. Not sure it would cover how they undid the screws holding the heating/ac duct grill on the wall though, but they managed it. Also using the drawers in the bottom cabinets in the kitchen, pulling them out varying amounts to serve as steps to get to the counter and the cabinet where the treat package was. Items I have long forgotten the locations of will magically appear in the middle of the living room; the original manual from my very first computer [yes, the one in the cow colored box] showed up the other day. Where it was, I have no idea. I haven't seen it since 1990. They can open the refrigerator and the freezer, too. [So far the child-proof locks work....so far.]

They aren't much for holding still long enough for a picture, but if I can manage it, I'll put them up later.

Reminds me of my old cat, she came to my door a day, beaten up by other cats I took her in as she stayed.
She liked to lie between keyboard and screen, remember during an WOW raid she was walking on keyboard because she wanted attention during the long play session causing an wipe as I was healer.

Moved to new apartment and she disappear the second time I let her out.

Loki stealing tissues and leaving them around the house and children were getting blamed as my husband would not belive it was the cat lol.

and the ragdolls Snowy -alpha cat, Cookie
who has cost me alot of money as he not only breaks out of our house through roof,
flyscreens (pulls the stuff that holds them in out)
or just his size.but also breaks into neighbours though backdoor and steals there cats stuff and has a chipolo to track him as he does this.

hahaha for real? I never really noticed that.

Interesing is that plenty of cats in Khajiit areas has Khajiit names, other places they are Cat.

Snittles and Baz. Baz is the gray one and yes she is missing a front leg. This is when they were kittens, I don't have a photo of them together as adults. They were both feral kittens, Snittles was lured into my apartment with food, an injured Baz was caught in a live animal trap. They are adorable but a handful.

I have two in my house right now--one that's a 6 years old Siamese mix who was adopted from a rescue shelter and a second who was abandoned in my neighborhood and followed me home a couple of weeks ago when I was walking my dog. He's also a Siamese mix, but long haired and an older cat. He as pretty undernourished from being abandoned and injured from getting beat up by a feral tomcat. Clearly an elderly house cat who didn't know how to survive on the streets. Very sweet, beautiful cat who seems very happy to be inside and safe again. Terrible that someone who dump a lovely khajiit like that but, you know, humaniods.

Umbra and Boots

A random black cat with tuxedo markings and white feet showed up at my backdoor one day and just by looking at him you could tell he was wild, but it was still super adorable in a weird way. Each and every time I looked out the backdoor window at him he would tilt his head to the side and just sit there watching me... sideways, so I started taking out scraps of food to him since we didn't have any cat food around.

Two or three days later and another very skinny all black cat showed up with him in the front yard and at first I thought it was the same cat so I called out to him through my bedroom window and it stopped dead in it's tracks and turned to me and meowed a scratchy meow back at me. So I grabbed a plate of food and took it outside and crouched down as she cautiously approached and took little nibbles from the plate at my feet and carried it off to eat it a few feet away. Cut to a few weeks later and she was coming right up to me and rubbing on my ankles and letting me pet her somewhat, the male cat.. not so much he's a mean one lol.

We had to trap the male and take him to the vet to get checked out, and took the female in to get checked up as well. That's when we had to pick names for them so she became Umbra, and the male kitty Boots because.. well he's got white paws. (We're so creative) Neither of them were very happy about that and took a day or two to come back around afterward. So I sat out in the front yard with them just about every night for a few hours, petting, scratching, and playing with Umbra while Boots looked on and occasionally sprinted by bravely at 90 miles an hour.

Eventually one day I worked up the nerve to try and pick her up, and the first time her eyes went wide and she instantly started to thrash about kicking so I sat her down and that was that. She warmed up to me really quickly afterwards and started coming to the window and meowing when she wanted me to come outside. Wasn't long after that we had an unusually hot week here and I left the top partition of the front door open at night to try and cool down the front portion of the house. I got up to get a drink from the kitchen and as I walked into the living room I gasped because something big darted across my path and then I realized it was her. She had jumped up thru the top portion of the door and crept into the living room and was sitting outside my bedroom door.

I started to bring her in slowly after that for short visits where she would just walk around and smell everything in sight, or sit on my feet. Almost overnight she decided to take over.. and would come to the window to announce it's time for her entrance. Now I let her out at night to play with Boots and they dart all over the front yard for a few hours before she comes back to the front door meowing to get inside. She never leaves my side anymore, if I get up to do something in another room she springs up from her nap to follow me and always sits at my side even if there isn't really any room for her to sit.

It has been a year now since she started staying inside and Boots is still just as mean but I can now pet him when I go out to feed him. Odd part is he absolutely loves the top of his head scratched and purrs loudly when I do, but if he physically sees my hands doing it he tries to take a swing at them.. I have tried to bring him in to visit her two or three times but every time he is a nervous wreck panting, meowing, and kneading the carpet non-stop. So for now he still remains an outside kitty, but one day I am convinced I will get through to his stubborn head.

And this is why I now sometimes run into walls in pledges and trials at random..
