I'm very sad!

LvDPrankWars
I purchased morrowind pretty much just for battlegrounds as I love pvp so much but I prefer small scale like duels just of course duel most people are not interested in.

ive just hit 160 cp so decided to jump into bg to find I'm against 690cp and being 1 hit!! please tell me cp is atleast scaled but if that's not the case I'm going to be so sad :( I do not play the game enough to grind 690cp to make myself viable in bg :(

can someone shed some light on the situation is cp scaled or am I just going to be torn a new hole every time now

They should atleast add the option to play in level 50 bg!

I believe battlegrounds got an update patch where CP is locked to be enabled and there isn't a "non CP" option. There isn't a scaling to balance a low Vs high cp player either. If you want to compete easier, I think your only choice is to farm XP until you're at the cap like your enemies (someone do correct if I am mistaken).

    Happy farming...

You're forced to play vs. people with more crutch points than yourself in BGs in your case; there are no other options. Expect this feedback to be ignored. Welcome to Morrowind.

Unfortunately they just switched from no CP to CP enabled battlegrounds, why I'm not sure.

You can create a new character and play in under 50 battlegrounds.

But your best bet is playing on the no CP cyrodiil server until you get to 300 or 400 CP. CP are front loaded, so once you hit that number you wont be at such a disadvantage.

I don't normally use daggers, but when I do, I choose dos Lekis.

I have always mainly PVP'd in MMO's. Grinded high warlord in wow, did arena, mostly pvp in SWTOR, loved the RVR in Warhammer on my Black Orc (RIP), and mostly did PVP in GW2 at level cap, but there is no way in hell I will touch pvp in this game until I am 690cp with a full set of yellow gear and have an OP FOTM build. Based on streams and you tube, I have to wonder if pvp in this game is the most unbalanced I have seen. That really shys me away from it.
I am whatever the people need me to be. A guardian. An oppressor. For some, too distant. For others, too meddlesome. I am the canvas upon which they paint their dreams and resentments. A vessel for their hopes and doubts.
    A mirror. Nothing more.

thing is with cyrodil I never find anyone and when I do its just huge groups I want to be able to have the 4v4 1v1 feel that bg should provide but zenimax are cleary too stupid to even run this game :( I'm so disappointed

The unbalance'ment 'isn't really based on gear quality. It's more based on class and some especific sets. There is some cancer builds and gameplays out there, tho pvp is still quite enjoyable.

There is nothing enjoyable about perma-blockers sitting on flags and holding on to relics for an entire BGs match. Yes these builds in Cyrodiil are easily countered by walking away and finding a new target but they have completely ruined the BGs experience in the Objective type game modes.

I will agree on the source of unbalance to a degree but in the case of OP, them having 530 less CP than the rest of the lobby is going to be a large issue for them.

They really should have just had a choice. It's clear the community is split on this and whilst I will agree CP enabled is more popular I am pretty sure non-CP fans would take longer queues over no choice at all. :disappointed:

Don''t forget it is build and play style as well. Not just CP. My toon is CP 470ish and I've been one shot by hardcore PvPrs with less CP than I have.

If you do not have the time to get to grind for more CP, then you likely don't have the time to put in to get the gear you need to have a chance in PvP. At CP 160, you likely do not even have the raw materials to craft decent PvP gear.

Gear is critical. You can be max CP with sub-par gear and you will get your ass handed to you practically every time. That's my experience anyway.

@LvDPrankWars I specced for PvP two days ago and went for duels to l2p. I played PvP before, but it's been years. I was dueling some people, among them was a CP490 guy who I was practically one-shotting. There were other non-max CP people that were losing to me within 10 seconds of a duel starting. All were agreeing that CP makes such a huge difference (I'm max CP). So I removed all my CP and fought them without. While they felt a difference in my damage, the fights lasted maybe 3 seconds longer, at best. CP makes a difference, but 10 vs 690 won't make or break your build. Someone who knows their build well and knows your skills well will feel like a 1-shot. This only comes with time and practice and, unlike CP, isn't farmable.

Fun story. Many updates ago, CP got fully reset. Not realizing this, I went into vMA for a weekly. I wasn't able to burst things very comfortably and the sustain was terrible. I blamed the Nightblade nerfs and just went on. It was the usual flawless, but felt a lot more challenging. In the end, the run lasted a little over 10 min longer than I was used to. I realized that I completely forgot taking care of my CP a day later. And they got a full reset, i.e. I was running it with 0.

    It's battlegrounds, not turtlegrounds.

Not that they should all be about burst, but a guy who can hold the chaosball the entire match and be able to self-heal through it while the other two teams are whaling on him isn't particularly fun. CP makes it easier to pull off that kind of build.

I think premades pubstomping (intentionally or not) is a bigger problem, but unkillable builds have always been a gripe. Granted, there's been changes made to some specific pain points, like Warden trees and adding the channel to Relic pickups (although I still have complaints with that one), so at least ZOS agrees there.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These builds are easily countered by ... building to counter them. In fact, ZoS has systematically patched in counters to perma-blockers, such as bleed related sets. And unlike the blocker, you will still be viable.

The thing people call "meta" is not stable, it's fluid, and when a meta you can't overcome with your current setup arises, you must adjust. The problem is that most people that complain about defensive builds also complain about any mechanic that doesn't let them simply dps non-stop like an FPS.

Pure poppycock. I have multiple accounts and redid the CP grind from scratch. While your CP may not have mattered against those opponents, if you run into someone even half decent, 10 v. 690 is an automatic loss.

Because the tanks OVER-PERFORM in the battlegrounds objective game-modes. Tanks shouldn't be relevant in PvP because it's like fighting a target dummy. In a 4v4v4 game mode it is impossible at many times to even have enough time for all 4 people on your team to kill the perma-blocker holding your relic without having the other team of 4 interfere or the tanks other 3 teammates pestering you enough to where the tank can infinitely sustain.

People not dying in PvP is an issue.

The only cancer builds in PvP are your perma-blocking builds. You don't even know what builds i use and yet come out claiming my build is "cancer". Players like yourself are why BGs are no fun.

Also LOL at dps over-performing. That's actually healing and tanking that are over-performing. I'm starting to question about whether or not you even play this game.

You can create a new character and play in under 50 battlegrounds.

But your best bet is playing on the no CP cyrodiil server until you get to 300 or 400 CP. CP are front loaded, so once you hit that number you wont be at such a disadvantage.

thing is with cyrodil I never find anyone and when I do its just huge groups I want to be able to have the 4v4 1v1 feel that bg should provide but zenimax are cleary too stupid to even run this game :( I'm so disappointed

Request a refund if you're still in the grace period. The DLC will likely drop in price at a later date on the off chance they decide to address this issue down the line instead of recoloring mounts in the Crown Casino 24/7 in place of QA as they do now.

I feel your pain. I'm at about 555 CP and am dreading the path to 690 (or more) as I pretty much only do BGs. They were a lot of fun before CP but are less so now. I've got a job/family myself and can't sit and grind for hours on end. Someone in your position is completely facked by this change.

    ZOS, are you listening?
