Gear Improvement - Can't Find

Okay, I have a weird problem. I can't seem to improve some of my gear, because it won't show up in my gear when I go to improve it. It's only a few select items. I have tried on two different characters, and have the same problem. Doesn't matter if it's on the character or in the bank. Doesn't matter if it's locked or unlocked. One piece finally worked when I equipped it on the character. The other piece I am trying to do didn't. So, at the time, I had equipped 7 pieces of purple gear - 5 shacklebreaker, 2 slimecraw. I was trying to improve my slimecraw to legendary. After finally equipping both pieces of the monster set, one of the two showed up to improve; the other did not. Also, only 4 of the 5 shacklebreaker show up for possible improvement. What in the world!?!

4 of the 5 shacklebreaker show up under "equipped apparel", 1 piece shows up under "apparel". The one piece of slimecraw I am trying to improve doesn't show up under either.

In addition, the "apparel" section is not in alphabetical order or in order of type of armor. It's split into like 3 or 4 separate alphabetical sections - somewhat arbitrarily.

Have you checked to confirm they're the correct type for what you're trying to upgrade? As in you're not going to the clother bench but have a heavy item?

This was my first thought. Make sure you're on the correct table

I tried both clothier and blacksmithing. I have one medium piece and one heavy piece.

I have had this happen to me before. For me, a simple re-logging did the trick.
