Hi folks,

An email from ZOS asking for pertinent information so they can email a free gift to me.

As I am paranoid about online security, my first thoughts are to delete and forget, but is it legit or just another of the thousands of online scams

Greetings,
As a special thank you for being an important part of the ESO community, we'd like to send you a gift in the mail! To do so, we'll need the following information from you:
• Your full name
• Mailing address
• Phone number

We will not save this information or use it for any purpose other than to send you this gift.
Please reply directly to this email with the information above by Friday, December 8, so we can ensure you'll receive your free gift!
We understand this email may seem suspicious, so feel free to reach out to us at community@elderscrollsonline.com or PM ZOS_GinaBruno on the ESO forums with any questions!

Thank you for your help!

That's a scam. ZOS wouldn't ask for that info. But, like the email says, ask @ZOS_GinaBruno if it's real or not.

Yeah, I got that e-mail too....but kinda wish I'd gotten the same one as the OP instead. It's far less eyeroll inducing. :|

    Yeah, it's a scam.
Think. Why would they ask your phone number or your full name if they need just your e-mail? And they already know your e-mail.
And ZOS never ask any information except e-mail. You give them your e-mail when you register your account. That's all they need.
It's one of the dumbest scams I've ever seen.

Edit: Oh... I misunderstood. They're asking your mail address not e-mail.

Anyway, you can find the truth only if @ZOS_GinaBruno or other ZOS worker answer to you here (on the forums or in private mail). Don't forget to check their profile 'cause if it's a scam they can create new fake account.

This one seemed legit but I don't really know since I deleted it. Am not interested in the Legends card game.

I'm surprised they're not asking for your username and password. I'd check the mail domain it came from. If it's not a Bethesda domain name, I'd report is as phishing to your ISP.

looks pretty scammy to me, what was the sender`s e-mail address?

for sure do not give to anyone these details of you!!!

why to heck would anyone need your name and phone number just to be able to send you some gifts in the game, that does not make any sense!

How did you manage to post this 10 minutes after a Zenimax rep came in and confirmed it? Did you not see the Z?
