Old User thinking of returning. But with Steam

Hi there all,

I played ESO from the Beta, and went on to play after initial release too. But stopped a couple of years back.

Now I am thinking of returning, but would prefer to play via steam. Can I link my old account to steam? if so, HOW?

Cheers all,

Best regards Blodhemn.

I believe not, but I'm not totally sure. In any event, I wouldn't recommend it as it adds another link in the chain so far as potential connection, login and other problems are concerned.

Yes, you can. When I logged in via Steam for the first time it asked me whether I've got an ESO account. Logged in and all my characters where there.

    Thanks Andreasv,

Only issue I can see is I seem to need to re-purchase the game in order to get a key, as I tried entering my original beta key, and it did not accept that.

Dont want to re-purchase and start all over. Simply want to install via steam, and use old account

In that case all you can do is add a non-steam game to your library (never tried with ESO though, so not sure if that works properly).

However, if you haven't played the game for a while you may want to consider buying the Gold edition, which comes with 4 DLCs. If you enjoyed the game at launch you'll certainly enjoy the additional content with the Gold edition.

If I buy the gold edition, or the new one on steam with the Morrowind dlc, would I still be able to link it to my old account? really dont want to start all over again.

Yep, in any case you log in and connect your Steam account to your existing ESO one. I actually wanted to start new on Steam and did all that just to be disappointed when my CP400 character greeted me.

Not great for me, but definitely a benefit for you as you don't have to start from scratch.

    Cheers for the advice Andreasv,

I'll go check out the steam versions now.

    Best regards
