do u want to talk when you see this?

Ahaha I healed a run like that - they said hi hi hi all 3 then thank you thank you thank you at the end - the rest - I have no idea?! And some of these (^_^) too xD like when I saved their cans a few times xD

Was vet Selene’s and they were newbies on quest and all! (^_^)

Oh I forgot! At heavy sacks and chests - idk what to say, so I made $$ in chat and then shot at it with my lightning staff light attacks xD

Most of them I have done with pre-formed groups so far.

We queued with a group of 3 for a random tank on one of them. (This is all for normal dungeons btw).

We said Hi, got no response.

Tank charged off, skipped all the bosses they could, we just kind of shrugged our shoulders and carried on as we were (all of the rest of us in there have soloed the dungeon, it was Fungal I, we only picked up a random group member due to the event and didn't need a tank) and once we'd finished the tank left without saying a word.

I expect that tank is cussing us somewhere due to our dawdling and wanting to do all the bosses, but I don't really care too much - I managed to get 11 randoms done despite not racing through and still taking time to talk to people.

On the whole, I'd rather do normals with people who wanted to do the quest/all the bosses/find all the readables/admire the scenery/say hello, but I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea though.

Yeah I've had some really good experiences with randoms previously, and made some friends in game from doing them.

I've been having a blast. Got through 7 dungeons today and all were good experiences including the ones where we had pugs.
My favorite was the level 20 something who came in with "don't worry guys, I gotcha! You won't die!" (the rest of us were max CP) and true to his word, none of us died! :D

First day of the event was quite good for me, beside the *** loot from the box.

tl;dr: you don't need high dps or a real tank to do normal dungeon, but a healer is quite important.

On my crafter that only do around 15k dps, a good dpser blasted us thru normal Direforst.

Then I stripped my crafter naked and transfered the gear to my roleplay character. This normal Darkshade II group had no carry. The other dps did about the same dps as me. It's slower, but 15k dps is enough for a normal dungeon. Till last boss. Turn out our warden healer can't actually heal at all, and we die miserably at poison phrase. She quit after 3 times. We queued for another healer. Just in case, I slotted Vigor too. This NB was actually a dps, but since NB can heal with funnel and only that tiny heal was enough to pull us thru. That tell a lots about our 1st healer.

Then I rolled my main. Got Falkreath. I was like "oh ***". I took a break from the game over a year ago, so all dungeons after Imperial City are new to me, and I know nothing about the mechanic (I don't even remember all the mechanics of the old dungeons). We did fine till 3 bosses that summon the colossus. We thought it was bugged first because we couldn't kill the summoners. 1 guy just quit after 2 tries. Finally the 3 of us figured out you have to step into the yellow circle under the summoners' feet, then run into the glowing circle at the edge. We killed the boss with just 3 of us, then queued for another dps just to speed things up. Last boss, due to not knowing mechanic, 1-2 of us die a couple times, but managed to res and recover from it. We finished it with no wipe.

Then I stripped my main naked and transfer gear to my last RP character. Queue as heal. Got simple Wayrest I. Group has 2 level 20, probably alts of a CP. Non of us has good dps so it was slow, but since the dungeon is simple, we finished with no wipe.

Falkreath does have some different mechanics compared to the base game normal dungeons, it's one that is likely to be tricky if no-one in the group has done it before or knows what they are doing. Once you have understood what to do though, it is not so hard on normal - you'll do better if you find yourself in that one again - take a couple of minutes to explain it to any newcomers to the dungeon, that will help it to go more smoothly if you find yourself back there :)

Tried this on three characters last night.

    1) Argonian StamDK tank. Queued as tank for random normal dungeon, can't remember which one I got. Not much talking going on, but had a blast and got my mystery box of goodies.

    2) Altmer MagSorc DPS. Had Undaunted quest for Fungal Grotto 1, so formed a group outside the dungeon. Forgot to queue via the dungeon finder. One of the guys had real trouble with his internet, so we ended up doing this as a three person group. Seems that people are much more talkative when grouped outside the dungeon finder and again had a blast. No mystery pack this time as I forgot to queue.

    3) Nord (don't ask, this was my original character) StamNB DPS. Got Undaunted quest for Selene's web. Didn't realize until halfway through that I had queued for the veteran version not the normal. Was wondering why things had suddenly got harder. One guy in the group knew what he was doing, but was a real ass and after wiping out on Selene the rest of us voted to kick him. Then we disbanded the group as we weren't going to get it done anyway.

I took in tanks - respecced all of my toons to be tanks. Yah... I can tank on ANY class. Some are just better than others.

Between the taunting dps - SERIOUSLY... you run a dps with sword and board? - to the complete LACK of dps. It's NORMAL, stuff should be dropping like flies.

Instead, I end up constantly having to rez the group members... because, you know... that's the tank's main job... rezzing.

Of course, knowing the mechanics, I can usually bring up the group unless it's one of the bosses that has a ton of interrupts.

So then, even when we all die - multiple times - and I explain the mechanics... they go back to doing the same thing... AGAIN. And we all die... AGAIN.

It's like babysitting 5 year olds. Only the 5 year-old's tend to listen better.

I managed to run four random dungeons last night, all through the group finder.

First one on my healer, super over geared for EH I. Probably should have gone half dps for a faster run, but got through fast enough. Crown didn't get a box, I had to explain to him about the 20 hour col down.

Second run, my off tank, normal CoS. This is the big one. Bad luck to get to get a DLC dungeon, but I've done this one on before as a healer on Vet. So even though I was the only maxed character, a non-vet in the 40s, CP 70 and one in the CP 400s, I decided to carry on. Healer and I also grabbed the quest.

We did alright picking up the mechanics until the second to last boss. One DPS was very assertive pointing out the mechanics of bashing and the shadow orb phase. After a few deaths the other DPS quit group. The other two weren't sorry to see him go, saying he was just standing in the red. The healer also sent me a couple tells, complaining the DPS weren't going after adds, which is sort of true. Almost always had one other player hitting the boss when he was invincible, course the healer could also bash when they were standing next to the shadow.

After the first DPS quit, we picked up a werewolf. The second original DPS also quit after a few more deaths. The second new DPS had done this dungeon before long time ago like me. I stopped and did a rundown of the mechanics. It wasn't a perfect run, but we finally won.

Those of us who had been here before tried to share what we remembered of the final boss. Not too tough except the boss's going above attack would wipe us. After two wipes, the healer finally quit. Group finder found us a new member, and while we waited for them, I looked up some guides and learned you needed to stand still for the final attack. I let group know, but was the only one to remember. I managed rez a dps, but they started on the boss instead of rezing the others. So I let him have agro and rezed the other DPS. The boss died before we could get the healer up. Only original member left, after over 2 hours, I thanked my new group.

Thrid run, DPS, BC I. I was group three level 10-11s. We just stood in the final boss's fire, my sorc providing additional heals with my dps.

Fourth run, DPS, DSC I. I picked up the quest, and even though we didn't wait for one quest step, I was still able to turn it in at the end. Last two runs, including the group queue were under a half hour.

Group finder experience 90% of the time on XBOX NA

    1. Queue
    2. Get group
    3. say hello
    4. no one responds
    5. Check to see if anyone is in chat(Voice chat)
    6. normally no one(Sometimes everyone i in chat, but no one every speaks)
    7. finish dungeon

More often I see people in Group text chat, but I have no keyboard so I rarely type anything other than hello.

The other 10%, people are in chat(Voice) and actually speak to you as if you are a real person. There is some small talk and exchange of who is looking for what.

Did one last night with the girlfriend, me as a level 10 DK "tank," (as well as I can at 10) and her as an 18 DPS Sorc. My first dungeon on PC in over 18 months, her first run on ESO ever. We got Spindleclutch I. I zone in, say "Heya," and get no response. We take the quest, plow through the run in 15-20 minutes, I say "Good run, thanks!" at the end due to no deaths, no response. Boxes were nothing special. All in all, about what I expected, but easier than I hoped.

Did two runs this morning with two DD who got to 50 during the witch mother event. Runs itself was uneventful, Has little experience on them so low dps but normal dungeon. Think it was darkshade 1 and BC 1.
However no queue as DD, that is far below one minute, I had to pick up some stuff in bank so I queued in bank thinking to go to elden root for pledge, has not able to reach rawl-kwa wayshrine from bank before dungeon was ready.
One tank was very fake but had healer in both dungeons :)

You're in luck. When something bad happens in my group, they just quit without saying a word even though wipe/death was their fault as they didn't know dungeon mechanics and didn't bother to read my instructions. Honestly, I don't think I ever grouped with any randoms that communicated in any way.

Yesterday was my first day experiencing random dungeon group finder, and what I learnt was that it's best to queue as a healer.

I like when people at least say hello, and a friendly tank is also a plus. Quiet pugs are a bit disconcerting, just a "hi" would be nice. I let people know upfront if I'm a newbie in any way, and that seems to be appreciated.

To CP 160+ folk, please be patient with us newer / lower level players during this event. Thank you.

    I agree

It was my first ever dungeon run yesterday as well . I was truly lucky to go with "Friendly Dungeon Runners" so they were understanding of me being an..........archer and new. There were many reasons why I chose a bow...but it's not a thread to talk about it here.
I am sticking with this guild.. because I know I will learn with their help to be an effective group member ..and well, practice makes a master...

    Anyway, my observation...

    1. I think there are a few things "oldies" -dungeon raiders should understand about newer players and get overthemselves already..ESPECIALLY if the grouping is done via Random Dungeon Finder...for which anyone has the right to queue regardless of level or experience! In other words, if you queue via RDF, don't whine or be nasty to a newbie..it IS a little like gambling, you may get experienced group members but you may not..if you don't like it.. form your own perfect group...simple as that.

    2. Most newbies DO NOT know, by heart, every move of every creature in a dungeon....unlike players who do such a dungeon for like 99999999999999999th time or more. So, don't get pissed off right away because your inexperienced group member does not do things they way you want them..if they make a mistake it's not because they want to ruin your perfect raid on purpose..it's because they HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE SAID DUNGEON... or it's their first ever dungeon run anyway.

    3. I very much doubt there are many newbies who go for dungeon to conquer it on their own.. most people with common sense realise it's a team work. Hell, when I started playing ESO I knew little to nothing about lore or mechanics (this game was a gift)..BUT I knew that while playing in a group.. there's someone who distracts a boss and takes most hits..while other players deal most damage to kill it while avoiding, if possible, getting hit..while someone else makes sure everyone stay alive. I understood the roles, in other words.

I am sure there are no. 4 and more... but I can't think of them now.

I am speaking for myself now.. but the reason I avoided RDF all this time was to avoid whining and frustrated players who get all pissed off and blah blah because RDF did not group them with dream team AND they assume that everyone knows dungeon by heart and all fighting mechanics of every mob within a dungeon (all bosses included, of course)..so they either kick you out of the group of they're just nasty...and you just get stressed the entire time.. I don't play this game to get stressed.. just to be excited and have fun.

And this is Random Dungeon Finder...if you don't like it form your own dream team and enjoy your awesomely smooth awesome run in an awesome dungeon to get an awesome reward (if ZOS gods favour you, that is) ;)

    Anyway.. enough of....rant. ;)

I'm loving seeing new players, or old players that are trying the dungeons for the first time. Sometimes they are so scared they think that they will be kicked. I love how dungeons are design in this game and I want everyone to be able to enjoy them, so I try my best to explain what I know. At the end when they said they had fun it made me very happy :) . So I had a good day yesterday because of these guys.

Not so much with another guy that started running towards the last boss saying "we need to hurry" then he dies and starts saying "I'm speaking in english, right? So start running". LOL. What a clown.
