Switching platforms.

Hi,

I am currently in the position where the platform I have played, Xbox EU, is slowly dying off. I would like to move to PC but the concept of starting again is fairly daunting. Should Zenimax allow players to have characters and gear moved/copied to a new platform to allow them to continue playing and supporting their product?

I don't think they're ever going to allow this.

Sadly if you want to make the jump you'll have to purchase things again and get everything you achieved in the game. Although this time you'll at least have the knowledge to help you do it faster.

I really want the same thing for play on PC ...
I dont want to loose all thing i do and all thing i pay ...

Yeah, I WISH. Maybe easier said then done, Microsoft, Sony and all that Corp Paper work...

It sucks that they don't offer this.

They should at least offer players the ability to make a character copy, with the following items carrying over:

- Their current CP level
- All bound gear
- All Crown Store/Crate purchases

Gold, materials, and unbound gear wouldn't carry over since that could destabilize the market (as we saw when ZOS allowed PC-to-console transfers).

Interesting for lots of reasons.

I think yes, there should be a means to do so.

I expect there would be a cost, (Maybe US$40?) if there was, and as part of the transaction:
• All your characters, achieves etc (entire history/i.e your account) on XBox EU are deleted or set to nil.
• And they appear on the destination server/platform

Just my two cents worth, YMMV.

I doubt it's anything to do with ZOS, it's far more likely to be down to the platform providers who won't want to lose players.

Plus the character naming thing will prevent it. Each character name may only exist once per platform/server and it would probably be too much effort to check that your character names aren't taken yet on your desired new platform and then maybe force-rename yours. The latter might also be something you don't want.

They only allowed transfers once, from pc to console, when the console version launched because then there weren't any characters, yet. Now that's not the case anymore.

I swapped from PS4 to PC and it's not a fun experience having to catch back up, or having to re-buy all your expensive crown purchases (because they moved them all to the casino for ???? reason). I'm still not caught up to my PS4 account after 6 months of playing on PC.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you're desperate.

Isn't the lull in population more down to the loading screen issue which will be fixed? I know it's taking time, but I'd be surprised if the population doesn't then pick up again.

Xbox to PC shouldnt be to difficult assuming you want to use the windows-platform as they are both from Microsoft. Its odd that Zenimax hasnt dug into this cashpile yet.

Like most people I want access to an active community in the game. I doubted starting fresh so far in would be enjoyable, but if Zenimax want to retain its player base, they should allow this in some form.

I sort of wish I could switch from Xbox One to PC, or PS4 or anything to be honest.

I just came back to the game and it seems like there are new players everywhere (thanks to free weekend? They're still here after that). The only lower player count I see is in Cyrodil, but it could be due to stupid bug that makes you stuck on loading screens.
