Ever looked at a silt strider? :D

Morrowind was great in its weirdness.

Instead of wayshrines in morrowind we should have had silt striders ( base game ), and in blackmarsh we should have had transport worms instead of wayshrines ^^

It is a nasty bug in every sense of the word.

Khajiit will be lying low and using much ointment until this plague of giant fleas is under control yes.

Khajiit has to add, that Santie will lay low probably a very long time from now, maybe she will even fall asleep like that.
As it is the season now of these interesting flea mounts.

Riding on a huge flea soon too

I mean, TES III Morrowind started it. At least I don't have to manipulate this giant bug's innards to get it to move, unlike Silt Striders.

And riding it in Wrothgar... I don't think insects would do too well in that cold of an environment.

I’m well aware of their use of silt striders and whatnot, but I’ve never heard of them riding alien bugs in the lore.

there's been a nix ox mount in Vivec stables since release.

They farm kwama and keep nix hounds as pets, it's not unimaginable.

Sorry if it's sound rude, but perhaps you weight too much for such high jumps? Sure Nix Ox are sturdy beast of burden, but your one can be too young and not developed well.

From other side, perhaps dunmer use safety measures, installing an inhibitor into neuro cord of Nix Ox as jump height limiter to decrease number of accidents during travel, not all can levitate and use slow fall spells.
Wealthier farmers hire specialists called drenlyns to "train" their nix-oxen. It's a softer way of saying "break." The drenlyn bores into the poor beast's back with an obsidian drill, and pries open the flesh to expose a bundle of nerves resting in a cavity they call the "drive chamber." They set a few hook-like prods into the viscera, and then reset the plates. It takes the better part of an hour, but by the end, the ox is docile as a lamb. It just stands there. No restless pacing, no nervous twitching of the mandibles. Not alive, not dead … just a husk.

Since this is turning into a nix-ox appreciation thread, I'll post this here. ;)
Funny thing I found today: a certain talented artist predicted the nix-ox mount back in 2013. Mind, boggled.

Also, here's a track to listen while riding your bug. First twenty seconds is walk, then canter, and after 1:00 it turns into gallop. :p

Well there are colonies of ants that keep and raise colonies of aphids and milk them. this could well be a thing.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
