It has come to my attention that many people are experiencing this error/bug and that ZOS has not given us a clear answer. Error 1005 if you are not familiar with, is a bug for the 64bit client that prevents the game from launching. Whenever you try to repair the launcher, it basically tells your this " Access denied /Not sufficient permission". Ive tried to work with the support team into fixing my problem but after many exchange of emails, I have come to the conclusion that ZOS does not know what is causing it.
They suggested I ran the computer on admin mode and also the programs on admin mode. Ive done so and always has since I started playing in 2016. Additionally, they suggested that my Anti Virus mCafee could be the culprit so i uninstalled MCafee and added the game launcher and exe to exceptions on my firewall. This did not solve the problem. The lastest thing ZOS has told me is that based on my game consultant script that i sent them is that my internet connection has problems and that there is something wrong with it. Knowing that there couldnt be something wrong with my internet connection since i have been playing this game for a while and I have never had issues with my internet connection I still contacted XFINITY and without doubt they told me they had nothing to do with that problem. Ive sent two more emails regarding my problem and ZOS has not yet fixed my issue or fixed the issue for others having this problem.
I have done a bit of forum research and found that everytime there is a new patch in my case 11/13/2017 patch. The client breaks or something breaks. Please fix it.
