Buying ESO+/Crowns Through Steam (ANSWERED)

My ESO+ sub ran out the other day and I'm trying to renew it.
I tried to cancel the old subscription on my Steam account and buy a new one. That didn't work.
It wouldn't even show up in my cart when I tried to get a new one.
So now I'm under the impression that I HAVE to have an automatic billing to have ESO+.
Problem is, I don't -ever- save my card numbers to Steam or any websites out of paranoia.
...and if I don't have a card saved, then it won't trigger the automated bill for the subscription.

So now I have a few questions:
  • If I got the game through Steam, do I HAVE to buy ESO+/Crowns through Steam too?
  • ... OR can I just use the main website to make purchases for my ESO account instead?
  • Is there any way I can get a non-recurring subscription where I decide when to renew it?

Thanksss. <3
