I recently came back to the game after taking a break for ~1yr. When I left, one of the biggest issues the game had was the extreme lag in Cyrodil. After coming back, it seems like one of the biggest issues in the game is STILL the extreme lag in Cyrodil! Last night when I was playing, it did seem to have improved (5-second skill delay vs. the 45-sec delays I remember), but once you get over a second delay who's really counting?
Why does this seem to be such a difficult issue to fix? To me it seems like they could solve it by just cutting the player caps on all campaigns, and opening up more campaigns. Even if they just cut the player caps without opening up more, I think it would be better (longer queue times, but you could really enjoy it once you get in). I would much rather see 20-30 campaigns that are lag-free with like 100 players, than one massive campaign that's virtually unplayable due to lag. Once you reach the "critical lag threshold", it doesn't make sense to have the cap go above that, since no-one is having fun playing in those conditions.
