I recently compiled a labor of love (a list of all the dailies in game, found at anthem.space/dailies) and realized that while there are 74 base game dailies obtainable by a single player and an additional 22 dailies for DLC content (again, obtainable by a single player!), you are capped at being able to do 50 dailies on a single toon. While I know this seems crazy (who on earth would do 50 dailies in a day, let alone 96), with all the motif farming and quest sharing that happens in DLC zones especially, people may find themselves at the cap before doing writs or a set of dailies they wanted to do. By the math I've done, if you *really* wanted to do every daily and got your hand on every share possible, you'd be able to do upward of 180 quests - well above the cap ZoS has now. This also doesn't include that
the first time you turn in an infinitely repeatable quest for a day, it counts toward the dailies cap.
With all the new content that's been added since the base game was introduced three years ago, it's long overdue that the cap on dailies be raised. WoW removed their daily cap over 5 years ago and they have FAR more dailies than ESO. There are a few ways that ZoS could fix the dailies cap:
- Separate the cap for Cyrodiil and overland zones. This is because 49 obtainable base game dailies are from the towns in Cyrodiil. This way the cap is technically raised, but you can separate between PvP and PvE dailies (and infinite repeatables) more easily. Keep the cap at 50 for Cyro/Overland purposes or possibly even raise it to 60.
- Remove the dailies cap altogether but lower the drop rates on more expensive items such as motifs. This would prevent an immediate market crash while not removing too much incentive.
- Separate the cap for base game and DLC content. The cap could remain at 50 for base game dailies and be at 25 or 30 for DLC zones (due to the lower number of quests obtainable in DLC zones).
Raising the cap or removing it all together would be a great quality of life improvement for the game and sorely needed as the game has outgrown this cap.
