Silver Leash Is Useless

This post is not only an alert of a disfunction, but also a request for betterment. Silver Leash is a morph of the ability Silver Shards, which has the added bonus to lasso the enemy in with a second activation, which I think is a cool feature. The second activation only works on Deadra and undead (werewolves too if you have the passive) which is a shame.

Let me introduce the issue. To be able to perform the second activation, the Silver Leash skill must knock down the enemy, also meaning that the enemy is a Deadra, undead or werewolf. If the enemy has cc-immunity or blocks during the first activation, it will not allow for a second activation. When you knock an enemy down, they will obtain cc-immunity, which means the pull will not work and you will simply deal the damage of the second activation. The second activation disappears before the cc-immunity of the enemy is lost, which means it is impossible to ever pull an enemy with this skill.

A possible solution would be to replace the knockdown with a root or immobilization, as you would then be able to pull the enemy to you. It would also be more of a useful skill if you could pull an enemy even though the enemy blocked or was cc-immune during the first activation.

    i have been toying around with this and never have pulled anyone to me ever, in pve anyway. wanted to level it to full before i tried in pvp.

    It's a design flaw, it's been like this since they gave mobs cc immunity.

    Yes the knockdown you get from the first shot gives CC Immunity and makes the 2nd shot with the pull U S E L E S S.

    That skill was designed BEFORE ZOS applied CC immunity on almost EVERY skill, even Biting Jabs with its knockback gives CC immunity, ridonculus

    This would be the perfect skill to give every class a chains ability. Wouldnt be as effective as the DK skill except on undead/daedra/ww's but something for crowd control when a Dk isnt in the group. Take away the restriction of undead/ww on the second activation. Also could be a stamina alternative to chains.

    I've not seen this ability used too much but a friend of mine was pulled off a resouce tower by someone using this just a few days ago, so there must be a corner case where the pull works. I agree that the root/immobilize would be the way to go but I am not a fan of abilities that essentially cc the enemy twice (root + displacement in this case) because they are so much harder to escape if there is the slightest hint of lag.

    I'd like to see it work again, and also be able to (along with DK's chains) pull people down from keep/resource walls if the objective is flagged/burst on the map as in combat like they used to. I'd like to also see the same be done with Teleport Strike and its morphs, which also used to work against people on walls (or below), with the same conditions :D. Then buff up wall/door health a good chunk, and we might see some defense and offensive play going instead of just defenders holing up until the enemy is on the inner and attackers shooting siege with little resistance until the outer's down, again... ;).

    when you are at it can you look into expert hunter and all morphs beeing impossible to proc on a blocking target aswell?

    I'm necro-bumping this thread.

    I have one suggestion to Silver Leash to make it viable for PVP:
    -instead of allowing you to activate again to pull you to the target, it should pull you to the target instantly if you're within the range

    Currently doesn't really work as gap closer in PVP as it's just too slow to cast the skill twice.

    i have it on a vampire hunter build i use in cyrodiil, and it really isnt that bad, it just requires some time to get used to, i dont want it changed, because right now, if you want to just shoot them, but not pull to em, or if you want to shoot someone, shoot another guy, and then pull to the first guy, you can do that, with your change, it removes all the possibilities and just makes the ability another simple gap closer

    It doesn´t apply a gap closer root like every other charge skill, that´s the true missing thing here.

    I tend to think anything that adds diversity is good (and I've been having a LOT of trouble making my stam builds as fun/useful as my mag builds).

    I will never understand why they made it so it pulls YOU to the enemy, we have enough gap closers, we need more abilities that pull enemies to us so we can single out targets in zerg balls and squish them. Also, the knock down for daedra, undead and werewolves shouldve stayed.

    Couldn't you use the second leash attack after cc immunity? Does it not last that long? In pve that is useless, but in PvP, it could be a free wtf just happened moment for opponents.

    I wanted to use it on a stamplar but n PvP it just doesnt work because of the elevation differences. Should be fixed to be more along the lines of Crit Rush or Toppling Charge.

    Hi,

    Reading the comments just gave me a mental picture of a sorc slotting silver, frag and dawn of smiting.

    Since peeps like to dodge frags you wait for frag to proc, activate silver be pulled to enemy and shove a frag down their throat, finish with dawn and wrath.

    Suppose you could substitute streak for silver but would love to see the shocked look on enemies face after that combo.LOL

    Leash is not a bad skill for a stam char who don't want to run 2H or S/B. I've been trying it for levelling some chars and has some great uses (like cancel dodge rolling). The fact that the pull can be used even after using other skills can be a surprise for an enemy.

    Imho it can be a great skills bow/bow stamsorc or Stamplar
    Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly
