Impale / Inferno Staff / Ancient Knowledge - Bug?

Ability: Nightblade's "Impale" (Assassination)
Weapon: Inferno Staff
Passive: "Ancient Knowledge" (Destruction Staff)

"Impale" is a single target attack and its damage should increase with an Inferno Staff equipped (via "Ancient Knowledge").
The tooltip shows no change though.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Do you have a destro ability slotted?

Yes.
All other tooltips changed accordingly for Lightning / Inferno staffs. Only Impale doesn't react.

It says it in the ancient knowledge tooltip.
