What number is a good number for a DPS in PvE?
Since most sets provide only 130ish damage peer bonus, I figure it can't be that high, but I'm trying to figure out what is considered decent.

✭✭✭✭I'm in a hurry so I just make some short points:
The tooltip on your abilites will rise when you gain weapon/ spell damage and the respective resource. Also by Champion Points.
Your actual damage output is further dictated by penetration and how often/ hard you crit.
You should definitely stay over 30k on your main resource.
For PvE also at least 50% crit chance.
You see it will be suboptimal to invest in both resources: stam and mag.

Also, don't get too fixated on trying to reach a specific number. Some sets don't reflect their damage on your stat sheet (Silks of the Sun, Automaton), others rely on a proc (Burning Spellweave). Not to mention that pumping up one stat at the cost of others isn't going to be good for your build.BawKinTackWarDs PS4/NA0 -

✭✭✭✭✭1500 Spell Damage? That could stand some improvement, even my weaker damage casters are around 2000 spell damage. The ones I skew to damage numbers are in the 2400 to 2700 range unbuffed. Self Buffed 3000 to 3400, although group buffed they can hit 4800 Spell Damage, depending on the group I am running with.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Right now I've got 5x hundings, 2x vampire's kiss, 1xVelidreth and generic stamina jewelery. The hundings and velidreth are purple, vampire is blue.
I'm looking to replace the jewelery and vampire's with unfathomable darkness.

✭✭✭✭✭For a stamina based character, i'd say 3k weapon damage or more, for a magicka based character, 2.7k or more spell damage.
My Stamblade sits at just over 3.3k base weapon damage and my Pet Sorc sits at 2.9k base spell damage.
Both do very well in end-game content ...

Golding out your weapons is a pretty significant increase to your base damage, but I would really only do it if you feel like your build is solid. I've made the mistake of golding out equipment that I later regretted. I'm going to assume you're running no weapon damage glyphs on your jewelry being that your weapon damage is as low as it is with Hunding's. You could re-enchant your jewelry with damage glyphs, at gold quality they will add 174 WD each.BawKinTackWarDs PS4/NA0 -

Are you a Stamina Sorcerer? Or a Magic Sorcerer? If the former, you want to focus on Weapon Damage. If your trying to be a Magic Sorcerer, you have to re-gear.

I added Unfathomable Darkness and gold damage enchants and am now sitting at 2500 unbuffed.
