This is a bug with the new CWC patch. It's never been like this ever.

Be careful when you deconstruct your items.

And yes I know you can lock items.

I'm now forced to slow down and take my sweet time deconstructing because items are not in the same order whenever you decon one. They should always be in order the way you see it and decon.

It does not do this on the PC, using the Keyboard and Mouse. Wonder if it does in Controller Mode on the PC?

In my experience, your comments certainly ring true, although I have not seen the problem which you've reported while playing TESO with a PC on the NA megaserver.

The following is from the Patch Notes 3.2.5 (Clockwork City):
    Trait Tracker
Along with the ability to change traits, equipment tooltips now have an icon next to the trait that communicates the trait’s status:
                 (icon image) Can Research
                 (icon image) Ornate
                 (icon image) Intricate
                 (icon image) Trait Changed
               (no icon image) No Trait/Researched

    • Inventory views have a column dedicated to displaying this iconography.
    • The Deconstruction screen will now group items based on trait status, such that items that you are more likely to deconstruct are sorted to the top. (emphasis added)
    • The Sell screen at Vendors will list Ornate items at the top.
    • With the ability to more easily determine your own trait knowledge, and the ability to change traits depending on your trait knowledge, you should now enjoy easier management of your inventory and bank and greater control over the items you wield and wear.
In my experience and observation (playing TESO on PC with the NA megaserver):
    • Thus far, I have seen only items which have the Intricate trait sorted to the top of the list in the Deconstruction screen.
    • All other items are ordinarily listed afterward, in alphabetical order by the first character in the item's name. An item which the character can use for Research to learn its trait will be shown with that icon, but has no particular priority in any list that I've seen so far.
    • Regardless of whether the player has classified an item with the Ornate trait as Junk, on the Deconstruction screen it will be listed among the items which have no trait, or which the character cannot use for Research.
    • Since I have yet to "transmute" an item's trait, I don't know how an item with "Trait Changed" will be listed on the Deconstruction screen. However, if the trait was changed to one that the character can Research, then I assume that it will not be among the ones at the top of the list. Given the rarity and expense of Transmute Crystals, a player who transmutes an item's trait to Intricate or to Ornate -- if doing that is possible -- seriously needs instruction in basic economics and financial literacy.

I wonder if I dont see this as I have learned 9/9 on this character. I also need to see if the trait tracker can be turned off. I have addons that do this better as they don't move things around on the screen. Don't mind if the list stays in the order it first comes up, but to have them move around during the decon fest is not helping anyone

As far as I know, the Trait Tracker cannot be configured or toggled in TESO ESC > Settings menu tree. Although I did offer some "feedback" on this feature -- including asking that it be made configurable -- while Clockwork City was on the PTS, apparently my remarks were, if read, most likely ignored.

I have had this issue since Horns of the Reach on Xbox NA. It is annoying and I have definitely deconned gear I intended to vendor.

This has been happening to me for last two patches on Xbox. It happens when deconstructing and selling items. Very annoying.

This just started happening on PS4 (NA) with the CWC patch. Items with no icon beside their name reorder themselves after I deconstruct another item.

It does - can confirm. Happens at the vendor too - thankfully I could buy back.

Same here, on PS4 as well. It does make deconning a great deal longer to get done when the items reorder themselves. This is not a feature I like.

So I've found a bit of a work around for this issue, though I still don't understand how the decon system they implemented with this patch is suppose to work. I just now go to the bottom of my list and decon from there. There is still a bit of reordering, but not as bad as if you were trying to do it from the top. Hope this helps!
