Knowledge of the Motif is necessary if you want to craft Master Writs with the Imperial Style, assuming that you are not of the Imperial Race.
However, the Imperial Upgrade does feature the ability to transform gear (certain pieces of gear) into the Imperial style which will bind the gear to your account. This is similar to the Morag Tong transformation from the Morrowind Collectors Edition.
Gear that can be transformed includes:
- Non-set gear
- Crafted non-set and set gear
- Dropped set gear that does not have an assigned style, such as the Trainee Set.
Yeah, its kind of limited and I can't wait for ZOS to roll out a proper transmogrification system.
