MagDK & MagBlade PvP build ideas

I want to start getting better with PvP and need some good builds for these 2 toons. Also if you have CP setup.

They’re currently setup for PvE And I barely ever use them. Have acces to any monster set, any crafted set and they’re both mages guild 10. I’m just terrible with them In PvE.

My current PvP experiences are running with Zerg and popping siege shield and spin to win. I’d like to be able to stand a chance at 1v1 instead of insta jibbed.

Thanks for help

Here's what I run on my DK:
    Double SnB
    5 heavy 2 light, or 5 heavy 1 medium 1 light
4 sturdy 3 impen (possibly not the best but works for me)
    5 heavy shacklebreaker
    2 BS/Skoria
    5 Lich
2 spell damage 1 magicka reduce cost
all magicka enchants except shields on which I have stamina
berserker enchant on front bar, you can put really anything on backbar.
For CP I split a lot of points into magic and elemental damage, as well as direct damage and dots
good split between resistances for hardy and elemental defender, some into crit resist and healing
few points into sprinter, a lot in block cost reduction and arcanist.

You won't hit the hardest but I've found sustain to be reasonable. Skoria will carry you in terms of damage if necessary.

I haven't played magblade since concealed weapon became crap, so I don't have many tips for you on that.

I worked on my DK last night. Setup is 5 light 1 1 shacklebreaker/ willpower/ grothdar with masters destro. 1 fire 1 lightning.

What a freaking game changer Cyrodil is to have 3k Crit resistance!

I still couldn’t easily win a fight solo against a non- potato, but I can add much to it and survive til I get a little help.

The groups I was with seem convinced I need to turn my MagBlade into a bomber.

Mdks are really something, you can get away with running full damage and relying on CP/food/potions for regen aswell as plenty of DK passives restore resources. you can get up into the 5-6k spell power range with some sets and still be a tanky SOB

Mageblade is one of the top specs for CWC imo. It's elite in duels, has the ability to kite, brawl, or both in open world. Great burst(gotta work for it though), good sustain, excellent class ultimates, tons of personal and group utility in the right sets

I'm sorry magdks sustain is the worst you cant at all run to dmg sets all dks have is battle roar for mag sustain it is so weak now I run 5 sun 5 shackle 2 blood spawn

I want to see a sustainable 5-6k mag DK pvp build.

    I'll wait.

Someone doesn't run on an mDK.
Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

Still working with my MagDK, I got the shacklebreaker/Sun setup. I’m probably just doing something wrong, it never feels really strong enough to kill a non potato. Though even being in 5L 2 heavy it feels pretty tanky....I have been using talons quite a bit, it really helps the group deal with them rock hoppers and bad bombers

I didn’t really want to go the route of PvP tank, but that’s where I’m heading with the DK. Using a S/B would only fortify the notion in my head.

In combat, resource management is something to work with. Like being constantly oom.

MagNB. I may just go head and turn her into a bomber. I hate getting bombed, and it seems to happen like clockwork. You know it’s coming and they still wreck a group. Can’t beat em, might as well join em mentality.

What's your spell damage and penetration? And what mundus are you running?

Sun/Shackle/Skoria is very solid. That said, you aren't going to put a dent in a heavy armor stam warden or stam DK with it, and probably not a heavy armor templar either. The only mDK builds that will are super squishy.

I have been trying to work with this setup a bit, but still not having much success. Shackle/Sun/grothdar or Skoria. Dueling my StamSorc friend hasn’t gone so great, maybe I win 3 of 10 and it has to be with a preloaded meteor. Kind of dirty and not so reliable.

I like grothdar cause it keep him from dancing all around me and melts him up close. Skoria does awesome Damage, but it doesn’t proc at the right times for me.

I find it’s pretty easy to kill the potato, but falls flat against other real pvpers. Fortunately there’s lots of potato running around.
