I don't think this would ever happen. BUT they COULD hold a costume contest for artists or people with software can create a costume and the top So many winners get their costumes made for the game and sold to ppl.

I'm a 3d character artist myself, but I fear they will make this happen.
Obviously a lot of costumes would be better than their ingame (maybe more optimized) counterpart and people could start complaining why most of them will not become costumes ingame. Also the style could differ alot, at the moment ZOS is doing a good job having a unified style, every model looks like just right in the game setting.
Not that I like the actual art direction so much ...

But every model is still lacking a bit for females. They are better than older costumes that made women look like they had no boobs, a mono boob or line backer shoulders. But they could still use some improvements for sure.

I agree. It's like they tried to keep the polygons as lower as possible in the first models. Would be nice a revamp of the old Motifs and Costumes :)

So basically, this is a copy of the Cosmetic/Costume system from LOTRO and SWTOR - both of which are 100 times better thought out than ESO's.

LOTRO also has a Wardrobe that starts with 20 Slots and is expandable via In Game Store.

It allows you to "store" an item purely for Cosmetic reasons, and then you can get rid of the "physical" item to free up Storage space.

The cosmetic system in ESO, along with the character creation options for beards, tattoos etc is one of the major weak points of the game IMO.

    All The Best
Those memories come back to haunt me, they haunt me like a curse.
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse.

This means that a similiar system would endeed work with Eso.The only change I would do is that you can just use for cosmetic purposes armor of the same type, at least in pvp. In PvP is strange to me that a heavy armored warrior can use a costume that make him dressed casual, with normal clothing. I know probably people use costumes to hide their armor asweel, but it feels kinda strange to me.

I had randomly thought about this idea early today when I saw a chest piece I liked, but not the armor type for the character it was on, but I feel 500-1000 crowns would be a lot for a single slot, 100-300 seems more reasonable since some costumes are naturally also cheaper than others and maybe the cost of slot could be based on complexity of costume (are you saving style of gear and colors or just style) one could cost more than the other/ would you be able to change the costume later or it’s colors at no extra cost?

I also love the idea. I played SWTOR and was very surprised when I discovered that this feature was missing in ESO. I love the game and much is better than anywhere else (in my opinion), but we need a feature like that. Either port it over from SWTOR, or do what was suggested first in this forum. So many people like the look of for example heavy armor, but can't wear it because they're not tanks and want to do damage. I understand that this is supposedly a game where everyone can develop their own playstyle, but if you want to be efficient and look awesome, you have a problem. That shouldn't be there and isn't necessary. So I hope very much that they will do this.

Totally agree with both! And yes, the price could be lower :)
I just want them to implement the feature ingame honestly, so I tought that a higher price would suit the idea better for ZOS.
