A lot of gear ank skill mechanics are bound with proper synergy use, but it is a real struggle to pop an orb or even to pick up a spear: you can dance and spin in the spear's radius, but it will be a GREAT luck if you can pick it up. Sometimes it helps if a healer throws it somewhere further, so you enter a synergy area manually. Sometimes there are even no troubles at all with pressing synergies.
After this patch, orbs have become a pain in the, let's say, head. And the other synergies, too. Bone shield? You can dance tango with a person in the Bone shield, no synergy at all. Liquid lightning? Get those lightnings straight in your face, nothing happens. How am I supposed to use Alkosh, Twilight Remedy or Lunar Bastion sest? Assuming that only Alkosh is used in current meta, set proc passives may seem not so important, but what about using synergies as a key source to sustain?
The Morrowind patch has brought many sustain changes: healy attacks, less synergies, and pressing this little [x] button is a key to success - IF you can press it. After the Clockwork City update, the synergies have becom even more buggy. I can't provide Alkosh uptime as a tank with a bunch of liquid lightnings near me and a spear right in front of my nose, I feel miserable as a healer looking at my damage dealers stopping their rotation to catch a buggy orb and then heavy attacking after failure, I feel stupid as a DD when an orb smoothly flies near me with [x] appearing only for 0,000000009 second. Yes, we still can achieve all the high end content including vMOL hardmode, but the gameplay could be more fun without those bugs. And - YES I KNOW about the cooldowns, I'm talking about the moments you ARE ALLOWED to pick up a synergy, but you CAN'T do it due to the bug when a synergy appears for less than a second.
I really hope this tread will be kept alive untill synergies are fixed because they are an important part of the combat mechanics.
By the way, how often do you chase orbs?
