Crown Store Clockwork City DLC & Clockwork City "Collector's Edition"

After a player purchases the Clockwork City DLC, the Crown Store should NOT offer the Clockwork City Collector's Edition, and perchance the player buys the Clockwork City Collector's Edition, then the Crown Store should NOT offer the Clockwork City DLC.

There is nothing gained that is worth the cost to buy both. For whatever reason, I overlooked that I had already purchased the Clockwork City DLC, and bought the Clockwork City Collector's Edition because it was the only one that I could purchase.

Afterward, I realized what had happened, namely, an expenditure of 4000 Crowns for 5 Crown Experience Scrolls which I don't need, a Mount that I will never use, and a Pet that I will not include in playing the game (nor will I display either the mount or the pet at a homestead).

So I want a refund at least of the Crowns that I spent first for the Clockwork City DLC. ZOS can have the other items back if they will refund the 4000 Crowns for the Collector's Edition instead. However, I cannot find a way to contact anyone at ZOS about this matter.

The Log-in for the Support feature of the ZOS website fails although I correctly enter the user ID and password for the "Account" and for logging-in to play the game. As far as I know, the user ID and password to log-in to "Support" are the same as for the "Account". (The user ID and password are different for the ESO Forum, however.) In fact, when I use the "Sign Up" feature on the page displayed by https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/utils/login the result is a display of the log-in dialog for the "Account".

Evidently the Support feature recognizes that I already have an "Account" and that I am, in fact, logged-in to play the game. But there is no access to anyone who can do anything about the Account and/or transactions at the Crown Store, and not much access to anything Technical, either. This situation is no way for anyone who is serious about providing ESO as a service to run their business, because it will eventually ruin their business.

It really sounds like you bought it twice, and are blaming ZOS for it .... :/
Sorry, but how is that the company's fault if you couldn't remember that you'd already bought it?
Maybe they'll be nice and give you a refund on one anyway.

You may have noticed that after a player purchases a DLC, then it's display in the Crown Store is darkened and the word "Purchased" is added to the lower left corner of the display. And that was the case for the normal Clockwork City DLC that I had bought. However, while I was looking for whether I had made the purchase, I simply didn't recognize the darkened normal Clockwork City DLC. There is quite an accumulation of the DLCs and I've bought all of them.

The "Clockwork City Collector's Edition" is the first DLC for which two different "packages" are offered. Since I could not find the normal Clockwork City DLC -- in retrospect, I looked for it among the others a bit too rapidly -- I had the impression that the "Clockwork City Collector's Edition" was the only one that had been available.

During the past couple of months ZOS has increased the number and variety of Crown Store offers which are available for a limited time, whether for 1 day, for 3 days or for a week. So the absence of a Clockwork City DLC offer like the past DLC releases would be disappointing, to be sure, but not surprising.

The "Collector's Edition" price is higher than for previous DLCs (except "Imperial City", if I recall correctly), but not entirely unexpected. And I hesitated to consider whether it could be worth the cost before buying it. And I suppose that it might be worth paying 4000 Crowns for the content, aside from the additional items, except for the fact that I had already bought the normal Clockwork City DLC.

What ZOS should have done is darken the "Collector's Edition" and mark it as "purchased" as they did with the listing for the normal DLC. Or, ZOS could respond to my attempt to buy it with a confirmation dialog, reminding me that I had already bought the DLC content in the normal package, and asking whether I wanted to buy the "Collector's Edition" regardless.

For what it is worth: one of the most peculiar things about the "Crown Store" is that a player cannot purchase anything as a gift for another player, or as a gift for someone who has not bought the game software and opened an account. For example, there is no offer of a trial ESO Plus subscription, which could be made as a gift, whether along with a digital download of the ESO base game software.

Blizzard Entertainment has offered that package for the World of Warcraft during at least the past seven years. A friend bought it for me as a gift in return for a favor which I did, and that is how I came to play WoW for 3+ years.
