Crazy king and CP for BGs are really nice!

I really like the update!

The new mode crazy king is much fun and allways action.

The possibility now to defend your relict against attacking opponents makes this mode more tactically too.

There are some guys, who dont like the CP changes for battlegrounds. A true thing is, that this changes dont let you be a onehit anymore just with chosing the right CP and a bit PvP gear. On the other hand we dont have this undying tanks.. Some guys are really tanky maybe, but nobody can survive damage from 2-3 good players while challeging them solo... your team has a size of 4 players!
So i really think, when you arent able to kill 1 player with 4 guys, you should search the solution allways in your build. Just flaming strong builds can maybe mean the same, that you arent just good enough...

In total i really like this update and BGs are much fun. Gj @ZOS

I saw a bunch of stamwarden that are now "almost" unkillable and who deal a great ammount of dmg....

CP is the worst thing that happend to BG, 2 friends of mine came back just for them after 2 years break, and they just left again thanks to that change

it's a common fact that CP pvp had TONS, and I mean TONS of permablock tanks, shield stacking sorcs, one shotting NBs etc etc. While EVERYONE that actually PLAYED nonCP said that nonCP is alot more balanced, alot less cancer builds and just less of it all. And thanks to that many people that did not PvP started with PvP. now that BGs are CP based I'l never queue for another. unkilleable templars / DK that can kill you pretty quick with ultimate. immortal wardens wrecking full teams is whats roams there now.

TL;DR: BGs was awesome, now they are crap. nonCP pvp is awesome, CP pvp is CRAP!

The whole “CTR now requires strategy” thing is what tipped me off. If he plays BGs then he’ll have been in a game where each team had a tank on defense and bash duty that timed out the match. That’s not strategy.

He also said that in CP there were fewer 1 shots? And that tanks are easier to kill?

And that the new game mode promotes fighting? (It doesn’t)

Literally everything he said was the exact opposite from what’s actually happening. Has to be trolling.

Ye no one can be one-shotted now when bgs is just of healbots, invested everything in 100 Blessed and uncapable to deal even 200k dmage during 1 match and thinking how great their survivability, or 65k hp permablocking tanks that only hold block and stay near to capture ball/relic/flag when you will tire of hitting them for 10minutes..

I was duo queued with Bee-Pee and he and I were in comms. I mentioned afterward that I kind of felt bad for doing that to them. Yes winning is good, but the biggest challenge for me was not the other players but overcoming the chaosball's damage itself. I don't know if they were new to the game type or the map, but the other teams were experienced players with decent CP and/or PVP ranks. I wasn't even in what I consider to be an extremely tanky build either, it was actually my no-cp healer build now with my CP incorporated.

I've had games before on no-CP where I held the chaos ball the whole game and didn't drop it once. Picked it up at the beginning and survived all the way to a 500-0-0 score. And that was on a destro/restro offensive Magblade.

So with CP I can't even imagine how much of a pain it is to kill the chaos-ball carrier. A group of Wardens + magplars would be practically invincible it would seem like. CP just makes everything a stalemate. Such boring game play. I really hope ZOS reverts BGs to no-CP ASAP.

Off-topic, but this image perfectly captures why BGs aren't appealing to many of us, CP or no-CP. One team got more kills than the other two teams combined, and yet failed to score a single point. PVP, to many of us, is about using your abilities to deplete the health bars of other players while preventing them from doing the same to you -- this ball-carrying stuff just seems like a different activity entirely.

CPs are bad for game i never liked them but since the game is balanced around CPs i would much rather prefer CP is allowed in BGs. Non CP setting is just non functional for many builds.

Yea I mean I don't disagree with you. There is a reason almost everyone prefers deathmatch. Obviously in this game we weren't going for kills but rather were focusing on keeping me alive. So to be fair if the game was a deathmatch I'm sure we would have won in just as dominating fashion.

But at the same time, simply looking at killing blows isn't necessarily a great way to measure who, to use your words, "depleted the health bars of other players," either. For example, in this game my teammate's damage numbers were far more than the green team which got more killing blows (my damage is obviously real low as I was taking too much chaosball damage to go offensive). It is just that every time a team pushed us we output so much damage they would retreat and run around the corner only to get killing blows on each other rather than succumb to our damage - this is how I was able to survive the whole time.

I've been in plenty of games where I had a teammate mag sorc go something like 18-2 with 500k damage while I went something like 5-0 with 1.2 mil damage. All the mag sorc did was spam endless furry on whatever target he'd see me burning down. All of those targets would have died to me anyway and he didn't even help burn (unless you count the small initial endless fury damage), he just snagged all the kills to make his killing blows look good. So even having a good K/D ratio or having more kills than the other team doesn't mean you were skillfully PVPing the proper way.

Personally, I hated non-cp BGs for the longest time. Play CP in Cyrodiil and build around CP. So, not until I benched my stam dk non-permablock build and rolled a stamwarden, did I have something that actually worked really well without CP.

Moving to CP, I don't really care one way or the other. I do like that I can have one build setup for all PVP. If there was no-cp at all, sure I'd make things work. But there is, so why should we hamstring builds?

And Crazy King? I dig it. Keeps things from getting stale and adds intensity as the match goes on.

Cp I honestly care but the new game mode is excellent. It helps objective game players and "kill them all" players both get propetly involved... Feels like what Domimation should be, rather than ignoring fights and running around. Dominqtion should increase points awarded for a kill based on your flag numbers in my opinion

    I like CP aswell.

I agree with the sentiment for new players though. ZOS should finally implement a real catchup mechanic for CP that lets players reach ~70% of the current cap within 10 to 20 days so they can start playing pvp.

That's because that group was ignoring the mode mechanics, just playing it like a deathmatch. They prefer killing easy targets rather than figth for the objectives. It sucks when they are in your group and they earned their score.

ZoS are just following the players. There are much more players on a CP Campaigns than on noCP, so obviously that BG must have CP enabled.

I personally think CP in BG is horrible idea.

You can't streak with flags, but you can use gear speed buffs and skill speed buffs - no logic.

Nor is gear speed buffs or skill speed buffs. Only thing CP will do for that is make it cost less to sprint, at the expense of your regen or breakfree/block/bash cost.

You're being incredibly short sighted. The longer it takes new players to reach the point where they can be competitive in PvP, the greater their incentive to simply not play it. What happens when there aren't enough new players coming to the game to keep the BG population viable? Are you really going to run around soloing for an hour between games while you wait on the queue?

When it comes to PvP, I'm looking for fun and competitive fights, not endless steamrolling (or being steamrolled) because of huge gaps in levels or gear. I find no fun whatsoever in winning or losing simply because either me or my opponent has more time showing on the /played command. Skill should matter a lot more than how much time one's arse has been in a chair.

Well then dont play it at all, this genre is not for everyone anyway and maybe is not for you... People like you are playing MOBAs, Battle Royales or Coop Shooters. And there's nothing wrong with the MMORPG genre, it has been like this for years and it will continue to be...

In this genre TIME matters, time for farming currency, time for gearing up, time for unlocking skills, time for leveling your character, etc, etc, etc. I wait almost 2 years to be ''truly'' competitive in this game.

And what do I mean with ''truly competitive'', Im at the point that I can have as much gold as I want, any set that I want, test any skill that I want, play any build that I want, etc, etc. I already unlock EVERY single stuff in the game that can/will help me to PvP. But I played almost for 2 years to reach this status.

If you dont like the grind, MMOs are not for you...

Ye, it definetly fun now when CP carry everyone beside poor 100 cp new players dared to try how small-scale taste and being endlessly melted by 690 people with zero chance to fight back.

Its an MMO that's how it suppose to be... If I've been playing this game for years to unlock every CP, every skill to lvl 4, theory craft and test the best possible pvp build for my own style, farm gold to make that build full legendary, why does a cp 100 guy suppose to have a chance vs me?... This isn't a Battle Royale game, its an MMO, TIME matters...

As I said before too many times, if people want a game where Newbies can be as the exact same level as Veterans, go play MOBAs or Battle Royale Games. In MMOs time matters and it will always matters, its the beauty of the genre, playing to achive something, in this case pvp God Level...

Never played a MOBA in my life, and have no interest whatsoever in starting now. Most FPS games are entirely too unrealistic and goofy for me as well, with something akin to the ArmA series (and maybe Squad?) being the only ones that interest me at all. But thanks for the suggestions.

When it comes to MMOs...my first was the original Everquest, and there's a reason that most MMOs since that time have been FAR less of a grind-fest than that game was (and also have instanced raids and such). Some people complained when WoW first came out, because it was "too casual," unlike EQ. In these players' opinion only "hardcore" games that required endless hours of grinding, getting raids together at 3am (sometimes requiring even calling guildmates on the phone and waking them up), being able to grief others at-will, and losing hours worth of experience if you die were any good, and casual games were some sort of "insult" to them. Thankfully, Blizzard (and ZOS, etc...) didn't listen to those players, and made superior games instead.

You seem to think that our disagreement here is over the fundamentals of the genre, rather than the specific degree to which it's implemented, but that's not the case. I'm not arguing that there should be no time investment whatsoever involved in an MMO (although that hasn't worked out too badly for Guild Wars 2's PvP, I suppose). Rather, I'm simply saying that the time required in order to reach max CP is way too long, and if a new player is primarily/solely interested in ESO for the PvP, they're likely to skip playing the game all together. And if you decided that you wanted to play something other than a MagBlade, but needed to level that second character up in the Everquest style, you'd probably make the same arguments that I'm making.

Demanding that new players spend 2 years with the game, like you did, before being able to compete against you in Battlegrounds is absurdly selfish, and a good way to completely kill the future of PvP in ESO. And would you even be OK with them competing against you on equal footing, 2 years from now? After all, if you're still around you'd have been playing for 4 years by then, why shouldn't you just continue to get free wins?

As somebody well over the CP cap I couldn't agree more with this. It is ridiculous that a new player has to spend so much time grinding CP to "catch up" to me. I don't get why other max level CP people are ok with this system. Why wouldn't you want something like BGs to be more accessible to a larger portion of the player base? I get that an MMO should have some grinding, but the max CP grind is far too grueling. I want more players to try out and be successful in BGs and the vast majority of the playerbase can't do that if they're at a CP disadvantage. Put us all on an even playing field for BGs. They're supposed to be competitive after all, not just "team with most CP wins."
