Which dungeon drops a nirnhoned item at the end?

Only completing the Main Quest in Lower and Upper Craglon will reward a random Nirnhorned item. vMA can drop an item in the reward chests, but that is probably a low drop rate. Rewards of the Worthy for certain things can drop it.

Nirn was intended to be a community learned and sourced Trait, where one person would get an item, learn the trait, then make research items to trade with others to learn the trait on more items.

So, no real viable way to farm this trait, other than rolling new characters and bombing through the Craglorn MQ, then deleting and rolling a new one. But I am not sure how successful an undeveloped character would be at doing this. As part of a group, sure.

Nirncrux drops from all cloth, metal and wood nodes in Craglorn. It's a small percentage.

As Nestor says the quest gives an item. But also if you check traders people that have learnt it and farmed Nirncrux will make items to buy. Xbox EU aemour is 8k and weapons 22-25k (Nirncrux to buy is 6k fortified (armour) and 20k potent)

If you want to learn the trait best way is to buy it and research it. If you need to make it, farm Craglorn for mats and you should drop a few bits.

Do any of the craglorn dungeons? I've never noticed any dungeon dropping nirnhoned. You get an item from the end of the upper craglorn quest line, and can get nirnhoned weapons from VMA.

Got Nirnhoned from PvP Top 2% reward a couple times...

Star Gazers is the group of people you help. The man in the cart that gets you to Craglorn can get this started. Or, if your already there, there is a board up near the Inn in Belkarth that has an arrow on it, read that. The one by the Wayshrine might also do this. Or, just make your way up to the Observatory and talk to some NPCs.

Note, the Journal shows the original group of quests under Craglorn Completionists, but there are only 3 quests now that are soloable that you have to do for Lower Craglorn. The ones that have you farm the anomolies, those are now side quests. You get these side quests near one of the main quest objectives.

Nirncrux will drop very rarely on dungeon mobs that also drop hides ... I've had it happen to me once.

Nirnhoned gear drops? No. Except for the Craglorn end of zone quest reward mentioned above.

@Eatmyface the crown style gems are generic crown STYLE items. I.e. If you don't have the style mat. Nirncrux is the Mat to make the Nirnorned TRAIT. Different things.

You can find nirncrux from picking flowers.
You cannot find nirncrux in a nirncrux mine.
Logic.

Seriously, though, there is Potent nirncrux used for making weapons and there is Fortified nirncrux used for making armor.
Either of them have a small percentage chance to drop when you harvest cloth, wood and mining nodes.
There are other ways, but they're much much less common.

Any node in craglorn that isn't alchemy, provisioning, or enchanting has a chance of dropping nirncrux. I have never gotten nirncrux from picking flowers, although I've gotten a couple from welwas on two occasions. You can get them all over craglorn; changed from the original "only from upper craglorn". I've gotten them from nodes actually in Belkarth. There are a couple of places to harvest wood inside the walls.

Many crafters, especially for guildmates, will make nirnhoned research items for free if you give them the nirncrux.

AS far as I know, Nirnhoned Armor is very good for PvE tanking (better than Reinforced, unless you prefer sturdy ), never tested for PvP (Impen seems like a must there, unless one is using the Impenetrable set), Nirnhoned gear is now possible for dropped sets due Transmutation.

honestly, the quickest way to get nirn for research is to just outright buy nirn armor and weps from people or get the nirncrux and have a friend just make you everything, thats how i got mine fast

I think the way it works is that nirnhoned is better on small armor pieces and reinforced on big. Or maybe vice versa, it's been a while.

I would buy the proper piece in guild store - much faster and costs not that much - ~3k armor and ~13-15k weapon/shield. This is for PC NA.

Potent Nirncrux is for weapons.

Nirn trait aromor adds a flat 301 armor to the piece it is on, so if the piece of armor you want to use either nirn or reinforced (16% more armor, based on the amount of armor the piece has) on has less then 1881, use nirn, more then 1881 armor, use reinforced for maximum protection. But really use inpen in PvP, will reduce damage more then either, 300 armor when damaged by a player is only .5% reduction of damage.
