Show Both Equipped Weapons at the Same Time

*This is showing Dual Wield & Bow, it's just the pose is making the Dagger on the right hip clip into the body.

Proposed Quality of Life improvement to the Game. For Immersion purposes, have both a player's Equipped weapons on the Front and Back Bars be shown on the Character Model at the same time. This way it's much easier for the player by being given a visual cue as to what we're actually equipped with without having to check the Inventory screen unless for item details. (in case you've been gone a while and are wondering what's on that Character). Otherwise this is purely for aesthetics.

When it comes to what is placed where, Dual Wield and Sword & Shield weapons will always be placed on the Hip, with Bows, 2Handed, and Shields on the back. If equipped with two 2Handed weapons, they would be slung across the back at opposite angles, like an 'X'. If equipped with a 2Handed/Sword&Shield, the 2Handed weapon and Shield will be on the back, with the Shield covering the other and the one handed Melee on the hip. If 2Handed/Bow, the 2Handed will be slung as normal with the Bow covering it. If equipped with both bars Dual Wield, the Front Bar will be slung from the Hip while the Back Bar will take up the before mentioned 'X' sling on the back. When changing bars in combat, the weapons will trade places. If equipped with dual Sword&Shield, your Front Bar Melee will be slung on the Hip, with the Back Bar Melee across your back. Because otherwise it'd look odd, only your Front Bar Shield will be slung on your back over the Melee weapon, if you have two different styles of Shield.

Did I miss anything?

Edit: Forgot about Staves. Those are simple, Staves would just take the same pattern as 2Handed melee weapons.

wouldn't this look a bit silly if you had say, two swords, a mace and a dagger equipped?

i do like the idea though~ i just kind of wish i could reuse my main weapons on my backup weapon bar so that i don't have to get four of the same sword just to utilize those extra 5 skill bars

One shield in each hand, new play style: dual shielding; because there's nothing better than punching your shield in someone's face.

The game has multiple "sockets," that you equip items to. One on each hip, at least one on the back (probably two, given quivers are a thing.)

What you could, easily, do is simply limit one item to each socket, and expand the total count slightly. A 2h back slot, a bow back slot, a shield slot, a left hip (1h) and a right hip (1h) slot. That would cover most of the visuals in game. Possibly a separate set of belt slots for daggers in addition to the sword/axe/mace sockets, but, the idea is still there.

I'm fine with all that as long as it is optional in the settings. My characters all run either dual staves or dual bows and do NOT want to have two of them slung on her back. So for me the current system is perfect. Don't mind more options but don't remove the ability to have it like it is. :)

Double Shields immediately gave me an awesome image in my head. What's better than a Tank with a Shield? Drop that weapon and pick up another Shield! I mean, you're not doing any DPS to begin with anyway.

Legitimately an option in Dark Souls. I want to say 2 and 3 actually had paired shields to screw around with, if that was your thing.

I still wish there was more integration for a staff and the walking animation. So you could just use one as a walking stick.

That's exactly why all my Magic Characters use Soul Shriven staves. They look like walking sticks and everyone knows only legit Mages use ordinary looking sticks to cast Magic. ;)

Because pressing "i" to see what your character is using is too difficult?

By the way, what do you recommend, for people "who have been gone a while and are wondering what's on that Character" to help with the differences between different staves (resto and destro inferno/ice/lightning all look the same) and to help with the gear they are wearing?

Oh yes, press "i" and it all becomes clear in an instant ;)

Yes yes I just made that up as a *** reason other than this being a purely immersion change.

However to note, Consoles don't have hotkeys, even if it's still only one extra step for us.

I'm confused, is this some sort of Add On pitch? or already an Add on? or just an idea for what ZOS should do?

It's a suggestion idea. What I did was take two screenshots of my weapons and edited them together to get the point across.

I understand that, but where on your character would you put 2 shields if you had sword and shield on both bars? My magdk's celestial shields are literally covering 60% of her body's area of you look at her from the back....
