As you've already removed add-ons, there are three additional troubleshooting steps you can take to help with loading issues. Long or infinite loading screens can be caused by a few other things besides a faulty add-on.

    Add Anti-virus and firewall exceptions

The application files that may require exceptions are:
    • Bethesda.net_launcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\Launcher
    • ESO.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso.exe
    • Steam.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe

For some anti-virus programs you may need to add entire folders as exceptions.
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\

    Repair through launcher

To run a repair through the launcher:
    1. Start The Elder Scrolls Online launcher.
    2. Click on Game Option on top of the News section, and click on the option for Repair.
    3. Allow the launcher to examine all the files for the game. This will take some time.
    4. If any files are found to have problems, the launcher will re-download those files.

Run launcher and game as an administrator
    1. Right-click on the game Launcher and select Properties.
    2. Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
    3. Check the box that says Run as Administrator.
    4. Click Apply and then OK.
    5. Repeat these steps for ESO.exe, located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\Game\Client (by default).

Please let us know if you see any improvement in loading times.

Loading time is infinite so can only be improved, waited over 20 minutes, normally its 30 seconds or something from login to character select.

Tried removing all addons however game hangs so early its unlikely its addons.
As in after login you get no music only the spinning logo loading screens don't change.
Game uses 480 MB or something but 8% cpu, as I have 12 cores with hypertreading it might be that it uses one core 100%

Game worked perfectly 24 hours ago, never any lag crashes is rare as in months between. Only issue is somewhat long loading screens.

Then I came home I got an message that game wanted to repair.
It downloaded 37GB, 6 hour later I got in current situation.

Tried to repair again and it analyzed all the files then wanted to download 37 GB again.
Restarted computer again this did not help.

Uninstalling and reinstalling game. A shame as shortcut was named elder scroll online beta.
    New download is 47GB,

The tips above with firewall and antivirus is for people who don't get the game to run, not people who have played an long time but can not play because of failed update.

That is if its failed update and not some change in game who causes fail on some systems.
But because of the install fail i suspect its installation error.

@zaria full download for me will take 16-20 hours, game is 'repairing' now which will be just as long. not really sure why we should have to though.

Oh dear gods, a full uninstall and reinstall was the only thing that's worked? I don't have enough bandwidth for that until after midnight (12 hours from now) and my Guild is running the new Trial tonight!

I ran the Game Consultant last night and among all the details of my computer and network configuration were many lines of Launcher log saying "Invalid application version". So I think the problem is that the game hasnt updated properly.

    I don't think I can stand a 74 GB download though :(
