In what universe does this make sense? Instead of fittingly starting the event on the lore-friendly date, they decide to start it right before their next DLC. Seriously, what the hell could they possibly be thinking? Didn’t it start on the 13th last year?

I wouldn't try to figure out what they are thinking in my opinion every time they think something is right they just end up doing something wrong and disappointing their players

Pretty bummed. I'm moving across the continent on the 21st and packing my computer on the 20th, and will likely spend that whole day preparing to move. I'll be without my computer for a long time since I have to ship it and will miss the whole event. I was hoping the event started today.

Also it's weird since 3 days later CWC will release so what's the point? Would've made way more sense to start it today.

It's odd considering the witches cottage that will be going on sale next Thursday will require you to have witches festival achievements to be able to buy it, with gold in any case. But it will still run for 2 weeks, usually run through the first few days of the following month.

.. or maybe I'm thinking of Halloween Horror Nights.

I wasn't around for the last festival. It sounds like Dolmen grinding will get me the recipes. Is there a lot to do for the achievements? I want to buy the witches house.

A year ago, I would have been completely shocked that ZOS could make this particular series of boneheaded decisions. It's dumb on top of dumb.

But after the changes to the Sub model and opportunistic invention of the "Chapter" model, the sustain nerfs, the drop rate of Buoyant Armiger, the lack of storage in houses or ability to display armor/weapons/trophies, the ignoring of the storytelling inconsistencies created by One Tamriel, etc., I'd be more surprised by good decision-making, honestly.

I find it difficult to understand how they could miss an opportunity like this. It was a perfect set-up but no all there was was some overpriced rubbish on the store...

I don't see why people are disappointed with the later release. You get 1 plunder skull like every 2 minutes. ( there is a an add-on) events like this get sickening besides the double experience.

The bolded part is why people are upset. Having 11 days of double xp instead of 18 is a big difference when you were looking forward to quickly leveling up multiple new toons or trying to get ahead of the CP cap increases.
