Hello everyone,
Since the customer service hasn't been helpful at all, you guys, the players, are my last hope.
My problem:
Everytime I click on "Play" in the launcher or try to start the game from one of the .exe-files, the screen goes black and an error message appears. It reads "Fatal Error 6".
What I have already tried:
-I reinstalled the game twice, once from DVD and once from download
-I deleted the "Launcher" folder, downloaded a new launcher and installed it
-I used "Repair" about a dozen times, which does nothing but download about 50 GB of data without actually changing anything
-I started eso.exe and eso64.exe in admin mode and in compatibility mode for every Windows version there ever was
-All required ports in my firewall and my router have been opened, I even tried disabling the firewall
-I brought my system to the most recent state by using Windows Update and installing the newest NVIDIA drivers
-I selected my GPU as the go-to GPU in my NVIDIA control panel
None of the above has helped.
My sytem:
-Intel Core i5-3470K @ 3,20GHz
-NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
-8 GB RAM
-Windows 10 64Bit
A little addtion: The game worked with my old GPU, a Radeon HD7950 about half a year ago.
I would be glad for any helpful answer. Thank you very much in advance!

You are looking for usersettings.txt and if it is not present, the game will not start. I discovered this the hard way, and customer service was of no use at all in fixing it. Here's a copy of mine - around line 57 or 58 you will find the resolution settings, adjust to match your monitor. Make sure you set your graphics up once in game, as our systems are quite different.

Don't ask me why, but I wrote my post while I was once again re-downloading and installing the game, and it worked just fine afterwards. Nonetheless, thank you very much for your advice, I definitely appreciate it!
