Request for new Crown Store Assistant - The Bard

I don't know why this isn't a thing yet, seeing how we could get one in Skyrim for our houses. But it would be nice to be able to purchase the services of a Bard in the Crown Store.

We have such great singers that do the various bards throughout Tamriel, though, that it would be a shame to have just one. So what I would suggest is that you're actually purchasing the services of the Bard College from Solitude. You would still be able to place a Bard in your home or as your non-combat "pet." But when you load into a instance, one of five bards would follow you about, playing you lovely tunes. But if it's easiest to offer a male and female bard, then so be it.

I definitely would like the ability to purchase NPC's hirelings etc, right now I would juts like my Mastiff to lay down in fron of the fireplace instead of standing and stare at me all the time...it's creepy.

Yes, it's weird that the pets in your home won't cycle through their normal behaviors.

I have like 2 dozen skeletons just so i can rp having guards and being a necromancer.

One thing that would be a problem would be 58 people in the bank all with their own bards. To that I reply, there can be only one! As in, no matter how many bards you are in the vicinity of, your client would only play one bard singing. Beyond that, I can't think of any potential problems with a bard following us about. It's not like they can document our bravery on the fly.

Bard would be nice if he comes with different tunes playing either random or shouting like the merchant "what can I sing for you today?"

A bard would be fun. Especially if it was more intuitive to what was happening. Like if you're idle for a bit he sings "And why are we still here?" And his songs change based on how well you're fighting. I would rather not have future assistants wander obviously through battles like the current banker and merchants

Imagine if you accidentally summoned him during a boss fight and he was running a melodic commentary of what was happening:

That boss may be aggressive,
but out rotation is impressive.
Ye gods, the tank lost taunt,
yet the healer is nonchalant,
but the dps are in a tizzy,
because they are very squishy.
'Can I get a resurrection',
the tank drawled in disaffection.
‘Come here sweet meat’, said the boss,
and everyone was at a loss,
at how an evil spider can be so funny,
but the dps said ‘listen, honey’
‘who needs a Hulk, when we have a warhorn’.
So the spider died with scorn.
Oh, there’s a victory shard,
but I’m only just a bard,
and alas cannot synergize.

A good idea and a way to actually use the Malukah talents, she could be a personal bard for crowns and share some money with zos .

That's a great idea. I would love to have a bard for every race ingame. My personal orc bard! Oh yes!

If you are lucky enough, you may find a Dunmer bard follows you everywhere, even in Dunmer crypts!

How about a hireling that acts like an auction house of sorts. There'd be a menu to tell them what you're looking for and then they go either find the item with the set parameters for you or come back telling you which traders have the item you're looking for. It would make shopping around for stuff so much easier.

Honestly its just another cosmetic, audible rather than visual, so ZOS should be perfectly comfortable doing it.

OP if I were your boss Zenimax I would give you a raise for that idea. However this is the forums so you get to be completely ignored.

I agree. I don't know that I'd buy it, but I'm sure plenty of people would.

I would love a bard companion. Especially if we could set their 'playlist'. There are definitely some songs I like more than others, but usually a bard anywhere will encourage me to stop there.

A bard to place in my house? Yes please.

A bard to follow me in world to keep me company? Sure.

A bard to take with me to a town so I can start a dance party? Totally!
