So I've been tossing this idea around for a while.

The general idea is to have an easily identifiable Guild Hall region on the Guild Page (G) for our guilds, so that everyone knows who is hosting the Guild Hall, and can easily travel to it.

Here is my mockup of what I've envisioned:

6EZ5wfC.jpg

So as you can see, there is a region, directly below the existing parts of the page for the Alliance War and Guild Trader, where there would be a place for the Guild Hall. The picture would change when you have a Guild Hall, same as it does when you have a Guild Trader (and it could even show the name of the house below it - there's enough room). "Guildmaster" would be the name of the house owner. "Travel" would be the button you click to travel to the Guild Hall.

From here, you could see what the Guild Hall is (which house), who owns the house, and would have a button that would travel to the house when clicked.

The backend could be done one of two ways: either by hardcoding the Guild Hall to set to the current Guildmaster's primary residence, or allowing players to manually select the Guild Hall through a UI element on an existing Guild Page screen, with the default being the Guildmaster's primary residence. The first way is the simplest, but would be less robust.

I honestly feel that this is the simplest method to making it easier for guild members to find and travel to a Guild Hall. The best part is that it takes so little work and fits into the existing UI scheme.

What do you guys think?

Guilds would need the option to select which member's house becomes the guild hall. Of the 3 guilds I'm in that have a guild hall, 2/3 of them are not the Guildmaster's residence but were done by another member.

Other than that, I like the idea! Sure, we can say whose house is the guild hall in the MotD, but then players have to go and search the roster to travel to that person's residence. This would be much more user-friendly.

Yah, that'd be the second way to do this, and my preferred method. It would take a little extra work, but would definitely add much more Quality of Life for people who run a Guild. Having the Guild Hall right there on the front page would also make it much simpler for every member to find and visit their Guild Hall! :)

Nice idea...however, I think homestead should still focus on functionality first, at the current state, idea of guild hall means nothing because guild hall does nothing

that is not true. currently for most guilds I'm in - guild hall functions as one stop crafting, target dummy dps testing and in case of one of them - mundus changing. attunable crafting stations are more of a blessing than you'd think and unless you are incredibly, breathtakingly rich - are not really feasible for a singly person. in case of every single guild I'm in with full compliment of stations - it was done via guild member's efforts.

could it be more useful? of COURSE. but given that I use my guild's hall just about daily and given that I run into other guild members there ALL the time? its not entirely nothing.

P.S. I would love a functionality that is more of a one step click than what we have right now.

It's a fine idea as far as current functionality, but really they just need to give the ability to set a house as an actual guild hall, accessed the same way as you show in your mock up. Let the GM then have their own personal primary house and allow permissions for guild mates to place items in the hall.

    Agreed on all points. :)

And with the Transmutation Stations on the way, Guild Halls will be even more functional, since anyone without the DLC will have to use the station at a house. It's a slow going process, but Guild Halls are becoming more and more functional as time goes on. We definitely need a more integrated way to identify and travel to our Guild Halls!

Good input! I would love for a dedicated Guild Hall, but that would probably be more work than ZOS is willing to do at the moment. I think some simple integration is a good step in the direction we're wanting though!

It would also be nice if designating a guild home doubled the amount of people it let in... so 48 plus the owner on the big homes. Maybe even some extra furniture slots, but really just want the extra people.

Really? Because I was part of the Homestead PTS and I saw nothing of this sort.

I think I'll not move on, and will instead continue to make suggestions for ideas to make the game better, thank you. :)

Interesting idea. :) Would certainly make designated Guild Houses more useful.

Yeah, housing could use some work to make it more functional. But for Guilds, it's looking better! :)

Another idea that would expand on this would be that, in the case proper guild halls are eventually introduced, to be able to designate a current house as one or to be able to transfer the furniture seamlessly into it. As mentioned above the Guild House is not always the guild leader's house

Still want to have a guild-upgrading system with guild-quests for the members, guild bonuses (attrib, resource, fight bonuses etc.), so anything in the right direction to make the members interested in participating in the life of the guild.
