The clockwork patch notes mentioned they've been working hard on how the server runs the client and such. Do you think we will notice a difference in performance as of Oct. 23?

    They did say that had some things coming into this update that would benefit console players and lower-end PC users. Who knows whether it will help or not, but it has been confirmed.

    In this update, we’ve been hard at work improving the performance of the client. We’ve overhauled how the client handles animations, significantly reducing memory requirements. Additionally, we’ve made significant optimizations to the Scene Graph. Together, these two additions have resulted in significant gains in frame rate and improved load times into areas with many characters and/or buildings.

    Fixed a number of infrequent game crashes.

    If ZOS wanted to fix lag, they'd need to do a complete overhaul of their server infrastructure...possibly move everything over to something like MS's Azure, if possible...and also fix their netcode. I don't see them doing that, considering they refuse to even address/respond to issues that have been present since the game launched, all the while going "full speed ahead" with new premium content, a lot of which has it's own issues.
