Help me understand Infused

I have a bit of trouble understanding how this works. For example for the staff below, what exacty is the result of using infused or not using infused here? 15% more effect I understand, it does 15% more damage for the enchant here. But 50% faster Enchantment Cooldown, what does that mean, what is the Enchantment Cooldown in the first place. Does it mean it will do the enchantment damage more often? So if it does damage each 2 second, will 50% faster cooldown mean it will do damage each 1 second instead? (effectively more than doubling the damage because it also gives 15% more damage).?

Infused basically cuts the cooldown of your weapon enchantment in half. Any damaging enchant (e.g. Fire, Shock, Frost) have a 4 second cooldown without Infused. Any buff/debuff enchant (e.g. Increase Weapon Damage, Weakening, Hardening) have a 10 second cooldown without Infused. With infused, these cooldowns become 2 and 5 seconds, respectively.

    PC/NA - Mayflower, Hellfire Dominion

Dro-m'Athra Destroyer - Divayth Fyr's Coadjutor - Voice of Reason - Gryphon Heart - The Unchained - Extinguisher of Flames

Tank - Healer - DPS (all classes, all specs)

Damage enchants have 4s CD, so infused drops it to the 2s. Others do have 10s - so you guess right, it is 5s after. Every enchant has a value of effectivness, x damage or x wd/sd increase, so infused just boosts that value as well.

Thanks, so this will more than double the damage from the enchant in the case of the staff from the screenshot? I mean it does 15% more damage and it does damage every 2 second, instead of every 4 second. Do I understand it correctly like that?

Let's say, base of damage enchant is 1000, 4s cd. With that values it deals 250 DPS. Infused (15% for one hand piece, 30% for 2h) increases this value to 1300 (staff example), and cuts cd to 2s, what deals 650 dps in the end.

    30% with legendary quality.

EDIT: Have in mind that enchant used with Destro staff (with unlocked passive) has 40% of chance to apply the status effect (Chilled - minor maim, target deals 12% less dmg, Concussion - Minor vulnerability, target gets 8% more damage or Burning - strong fire damage dot, Poisoned - strong physical dot, Diseased - minor defile, target's receives 15% less healing). More often you proc the enchant, higher uptimes of status effects you will hold on target. Status effects last for 4s.

Disease and Poison status effects don't have increased chance to proc with destro staff.

Your screenshot is misleading, because the weapon w/ infused is of lower quality and level.

If u take a look at the enchant that grants u weapondmg:
Basevalue: 348 Weapon- and Spell dmg for 5 seconds on a 10 sec cooldown -> average 174 weapon- and spelldmg
Infused (gold): 452 Weapon- and spell dmg for 5 secs on a 5 sec cooldown -> average 452 weapon- and spelldmg
Average as in having a maximum uptime over a timeframe.

I guess I should have unequipped the irrelevant staff that didn't have Infused; I wasn't trying to do a comparison, Im only after understanding what Infused does to a enchantment :) From your numbers I think I can read that I did in fact understand it correctly then; damage is more than doubled for the enchantment. Thank you for explaining it to me!

I wish I understood more than half of what you wrote, which is merely a critique at my own lack of understanding of the game mechanics! Thank you for explaining this in detail, I need to read up on this a whole lot more to properly understand it! :)

Great info here! I didn't know how long the weapon enchant cool downs were - now I do! :)

Watch the first 45 seconds of this video and you will see the power of Infused + 5 pc of Torugs Pact. Just watch the damage numbers above their heads. Great for burst, not great for overall DPS. With the exception of an Infused weapon plus Spell/Weapon damage enchant which is almost 500 extra free Spell/Weapon damage, I'd say that it is more of a PvP thing rather than PvE. Nirnhoned is probably stronger but I do love my Infused 2H with Oblivion damage enchant on my Stamplar also.
