There is a difference in the character appearance between what i create in the character creation screen and what i receive in game. I hope it can be fixed
Nope I don't have any addons that can do that, the texture and lighting is not what bother me, look at the shape of the face and the eyes, even the mouth look a bit different, like it received some type of a reset.
Honestly, it looks the same to me, with the exception of very different lighting and the character not having an "expression" which she does in the creation screen. I suspect the lighting and the lack of expression are making most of the differences you see. My main gripe with that character creation screen in that the lighting in the ship's hold in even worse than the Coldharbor cell and it makes in very hard to tell what the finished character will look like in bright sunlight.
The character on the left appears identical to the character on the right - though there are significant shading differences between the two. The inconsistency in appearance seems to be based on ambient lighting in each area. Lighting makes all the difference.
Check out this video - granted, it's with real people, but the lighting effects in ESO are pretty great so it should illustrate what I'm trying to say.
I do think, however, that it is very unfortunate that lighting in character creation is so limited. I can attest to having made at least a dozen characters whose lives were cut very short after I saw them "in the real world." They simply did NOT look the way I intended when they were created in a dimly lit room. The same can be said for dye stations in game. There are several (the Mournhold enchanter shop, for example) that are placed in such terribly lit locations that it is pointless to use them. The one in my house faces a wall with a light source hidden just out of camera range so that I can see colors more clearly without having to place the dye station outside in the sun. Ridiculous, but true.
I would like it if ZOS could add in (at the very least) a toggle of "natural daylight" to see what the character will look like when they exit the character creation screen or the dye station.
Overlayed the faces of both characters, they appear to have the same proportions
It is most likely the light, which is also annoying me when creating a character, one should be able to see what their character looks like in "natural" lighting
Lighting can make all the difference in the world. This is why the character creation screen should give us lighting options. Even a location option would be useful, where we can place our character in a location that actually exists, so we know for sure how they will look in the world.
This hasn't changed, the character screen lighting is so bad, i'm tired of tryharding a good looking character only for it to look so terrible in the character selection screen. Yeah i know it's sad that i care but it's an ocd thing i like all my character to look pretty in one place. ZOS really can't do ANYTHING right with their game.
