More magblade questions ^^

So I recently started a discussion where I asked about some magblade questions like basic gear and stuff, so now I made a testing build - 3 clever alchemist armor, dual wield alchemist and resto alchemist backbar.
Rest of gear is overwhelming surge.
Much of the gear is white and I haven't enchanted it, still missing monster helmet but used slimecraw in my "tests" I will get a better one soon.

So my question is how do people nuke me 2 to 5 sec while I don't feel like I'm doing damage, I don't have a crazy rotation , I just used that shadow spam DD ability, merciless resolve and soul harvest when I tried it, I of course also potted to proc clever alchemist, so I didn't use any defense when I got nuked and my opponent wasn't either when I attacked him, am I just a horrible player, is my sets bad, or is there another reason to why I can't t burst
I know I'm not optimized in any places but I still can't see how I can get a decent DPS

Ty :)

I would suggest getting your white gear up to blue, which is superior quality, at the very minimum, as well as getting magicka enchantments on every single armor piece you have.

These little things carry a lot of your power as a contender.

I would also suggest making sure you have at least 16-17k health outside of Cyrodiil. That includes using food. ALWAYS have a food buff, they're cheap enough to have running at all times. I would start with food that boosts your max health and magicka first, and go from there to see whether you need more emphasis on sustain in the future, or more defense.

It all adds up to a competitive build in the end.

Yeah, I just haven't done that cause I was unsure about if it was worth the while ^^ thanks anyways, I'll do it tommorow

For pvp i use S+B front bar (War Maiden shield and Clever Alch sword) and resto back bar (War Maiden).. 5x clever alch, 5x war maiden, 2x kena.

Merciless Resolve is on the front bar, activate it, switch to back bar, piercing mark > 2x light attacks procs Kena > crippling Grasp > 3 more light attacks, switch to front bar, proc Clever Alch and fire off assassins will followed by swallow soul spam.. works a treat. A lot of of the time i don't even get to swap bar on squishy targets.. i can just finish em off with resto light or heavy attacks..

You wont kill jack with white gear and no glyphs. Are you brand new?

That do sound really interesting, tho I want to play with dual wield since I mainly tank in pve and want something new

I have played quite a lot of pve but I am pretty much brand new to pvp, I have tried it a couple times before but this is my first pvp oriented build.
And the reason I waited with upgrading gear is that i didn't think it would make a big difference and just didn't have the patience to port my gear to my crafter, the reason I didn't enchanted was that I'm out of money after investing into gold mats for dlc launch, probably did it a bit too early,

Now I'm gonna ask a bit more questions ^^

    1. I heard torugs pact was good for burst, I have a set of that, can that be better than clever alchemist or surge?
Btw my set is heavy but I also heard that the current meta uses heavy for everything ^^

    2. What glyphs do you recommend for armor and weapons

Alch is more burst but torugs is more pressure. Alch is better on a dw build open world tho imo since those weaves can be hard to land without a gal closer and lotus fan isn't worth slotting unless you're in a group and need it for bombing+sap spam.

Mageblade meta, is NOT heavy though. You'll have success in heavy and it will help you learn, but mageblade really shines in light armor. The reason for this is two-fold, the light armor passives are outright superior to heavy(for damage oriented builds) while also being harder to replace, and light armor has superior non-crafted set choices by a wide margin.

I run all tri-glyphs for PVP for any magika build, it's significantly more overall stats and you'll be able to make use of the ~27k health and ~12k stam they will put you at. If you're running light armor you can afford to lose some damage by missing out on higher max mag here since you have those excellent passives.

If you want to start in heavy I'd run

5 Shackle - 4 body + resto - poison of your choice and main hand nirnhoned sword - shock/disease
5 war maiden/surge(surge is better in no CP or small scale CP, maiden is better in bigger scenarios) - jewels+waist/gloves+ off hand sword infused - berserker enchant
    2 Grothdarr

That'll give you ~15k stam+constitution stam return+900 regen, plenty enough for sustain.

You'll also be sitting at almost 30k health, making you immune to most single players burst. You'll combine the high health and your native mageblade hots with healing ward to make yourself very tanky. Resto ult is just the icing on the cake.

Magika sustain could be somewhat tricky so I'd run 1 cost reduction glyph and witchmothers. Alternatively, if you wanted to run less health you could fit Ghastly eye bowl here and recoup some of the magika you miss from tri-glyphs and get more sustain than witchmothers gives. You'll also have siphoning attacks and constitution. This should cover you

Ritual stone to start, the extra healing is really really noticeable. Then switch to a damage mundus if your choice after you get used to NB.

Just my two cents for a new mageblade that wants to run dw+heavy.

@crusnik91 run shackle/maiden/groth in light and has some gameplay videos showcasing what the dw mageblade can do, although you won't have the same level of burst in heavy, you'll be noticeably more tanky

Shoot me a message if you want to get into any of the mechanics of these things.
