So why can't Dragonknights reflect the cliffracer skill from the Warden?

Yet somehow it can be absorbed by the wardens shimmering shields?

Because it would never hurt a dk then, they would always reflect it.

but that shouldn't stop them from being able to reflect it, no? If you're shooting projectiles at a dk that has wings up ---- that's on the other person shooting not on the dk

Okay, you are asking why when you ought to be asking what is the thought process that leads *ZOS*, not me, to the end result of this particular skill not being reflectable and the answer has been pretty clear since before the warden was introduced, it has a LONG flight time and CLEAR indicators so it would be EASY to reflect everytime, so ZOS made the decision to make it nonreflectable. Zos has stated this reason pretty clearly since the first eso live with the warden. There is no reason beyond this and thinking about it any other way is missing the point.

ZOS rolled the dice or something. As far as I understand it, its not a projectile, but no idea why shimmering shield absorbs it.

Those are different skills. You could also ask why a DK can't reflect Radiant Oppression/destruction or Soul strike. Shimmering Shield operates differently than the dragonwings and has its pros and cons with respect to that skill.

Because they decided to prioritize the appearance of the animation over good game mechanics, so Cliff Racer can't be dodged or reflected. :/

The "logic" is that the animal is attacking the player, it's not a "projectile" but rather a summoned pet. That's just the flavor,

It's unreflectable because Wardens have: Racer, Shalk, and... And... That's it for substantial damage - meaning if it's reflected Wardens (esp mag) auto lose.

Crystal (shimmering) only absorbs X amount of damage, so racer can still deal damage

    And I just wanna say...

My new idea seems to be failing :( I dunno why, but a 10k mag shield seems so much better than a 10k Stam shield

Well then they need to quit with this *** ***, let us reflect and dodge *** again.Wouldn't be surprised if they introduce new undodgeable attacks every patch.Getting ridiculous.

If you're gonna cry about cliff racers not being dodgeable, then you need to also cry about jesus beam, petrify, crushing shock, and all the other undodgeable skills as well, not just single out that ability, which also happens to be the only reliable dps ability a magwarden has.

I never said cliffracer in specific. They could easily change the ability to make it work better.I really have no idea why they had to put such a delay on it.

Abilities that you'll reallistically reflect in Cyrodiil (by class / spec and weapon) excluding light / heavy attacks:
    • Dragonknight:
      • Stonefist ( :D Ever heard of Fossilize / Vamp drain?)
    • Nightblade:
      • Swallow soul
      • Crippling grasp
      • Assassin's will
      • Impale (only the ranged morph)
    • Sorcerer:
      • Crystal Fragments
      • Overload(if somehow someone casts it by accident)
    • Templar:
      • Dark Flare (still applies Major Defile even if reflected)
      • Reflective Light (still applies Snare + DoT even if reflected)
      • Javelin
    • Warden:
      • ...?
    • Destruction staff:
      • Destructive clench
      • Crushing shock
    • Bow:
      • Snipe
      • Poison Injection (still applies DoT even if reflected)
    • Dual wield:
      • Hidden blade
    • Werewold:
      • Piercing Howl (unless they changed it and I missed it in a patch)
    • Mages' guild:
      • Meteor

Useless against 40% of the magicka classes (no, DKs have no point using Stonefist still), is useless against 100% of the melee specs and isn't even reliable against anyone but magicka NBs and Snipe spammers.

Would be about time to make it reflect more things. Sithis forbid people have to look at their target and think about what they should use. I would change Crippling grasp to be non-reflectable, but other abilities need a change, because the only case where I use reflects is Spell Wall - Wings are a waste of a slot, waste of magicka and waste of time.

Because it is considered a summoned creature. Hence not being reflected. You dont reflect clannfears , bears or twilights do you?

Imo it should reflect every projectile (non channeled) aside from bird and meteor. And not take status effects.

Even then uptime vs cost is bad.

To be honest, though, those creatures aren't considered "projectiles". The bird is definitely a non-beam projectile.

All I really have to say is it needs to be reworked in a way that is still effective without making the only counter being los or using a 1 hand and shield.I'm not for it if they don't do it right.I play a warden too.Not to mention that cliff racer is only the most recent addition to undodgeable attacks.

I wouldn't waste a slot for wings. Just hold block. It's what DKs do with 99% of their playtime.
