Without knowing your class we can’t get too specific. However, a very accessible build for stam dps is hundings rage 5pc + spriggans thorns 5pc all divines, duel wield (one dagger one axe) and bow. Then if you have monster sets you can run those for the head and shoulder. If you have no monster set then run another two piece like Lekis focus for extra wpn damage or reallt anythign you want, it could be a two piece for max stat, regen, resistance etc. if you feel two squishy in 7 medium you can run 2 heavy (chest and head) and 5 medium. You’ll probably want to run dubious camoran throne for food, unless your a Stam DK in which case run purple max stat food as molten armaments means you’ll sustain trough heavy attack weaving. Run all wpn damage glyphs on your jewelry. Craft hundings rage wpns because spriggans wpns are expensive and you can absolutely run blue spriggans jewelry which is very cheap. I’ve completed vma with blue spriggans jewelry so it’s no big deal. CP pts depend somewhat on your class and my best advice to you would be to head over to a theory crafter site like alcasthq.com and look over his builds. He has an in depth rundown on most classes. It’s a great place to start and he provides cp allotments for 300 as well as cp cap and can teach you ability rotations via video. Good luck and you should be up and running in no time.

Then you can still run the same build that I mentioned but using Tristat food and molten armaments to boos heavy attack damage. Again the I really recommend heading to Alcasts site. Look at his venom build.

It does sound like you have good single target damage but no AoE damage (Area of Effect). If you have maxed out and are using dual (sorry) wield, you have access to decent AoE damage in Steel Tornado/Whirling blades. Using something like this damages all enemies in area around you rather than taking them out one at a time.
My problem is that I lack single target high damage but melt mobs.
