Crown Crates - Gems - Trade ins

You guys know how we can trade in stuff such as furniture or other food / scrolls or whatever else for gems? or if we already have a mount or a costume we get gems instead?
Well, why not let us trade in mounts that we received for gems?
Such as Senche Lionness I just received and I don't like this mount along with these wood elf costumes from crown crates.
So why ZOS? Why aren't we given an option to trade these mounts / Costumes we get for gems? why not just give us a time like 24-48 hours to trade for gems or it becomes permanent..

Because then you'd have more gems and less reason to buy more Crown Crates in order to get the thing(s) you actually want? They seem to be slowly doing away with gems anyway, given the amount of non-gem-buyable mounts in the new crates.

Because if you get what you want, you won't spend more money. Your money is more important to them. :/

the mount trade ins / costume trade ins could be worth like 20-30 gems (depending on the mount ofcourse and costume)

They already added rare un-buyable mounts because of the amount of people who have enough gems to buy the things they want.

Give more people more ways to stash gems and they will come up with some rediclioialy stupid *** like this, I’ll pass.

      I effin hate crown crates.

Well without gems I have negative interest in the clown crates. I' after 16- 40 gem stuff, costumes, hair and hats primary.
Without the trade in I would still want it but with endless rng to get it I rater take an extra vacation :)

Had max luck with the free crates got I pet I had from store and an 15% xp scroll who gave 33 gems, more than enough to buy an hairstyle and a hat I wanted.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

In the meanwhile though, we have people who have literally spent THOUSANDS $ trying (with varying success) to get the un-gem-able mounts. This is all the feedback ZOS needed. This *** is here to stay(and get worse).

I actually seen a post that someone actually bought 75k crowns. and hadn't got a single mount lol.

For all that they have all these money grabs, I am so grateful that there is nothing Pay to Win about it. The only thing I could even think of that is pay to win are those experience scrolls, and you can get the equivalent in game with only in game gold or grinding if you want to.

So keep up the good work Bethesda ESO!
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

Good point, which is what I have to keep reminding myself of. As much as I hate the gambling crates and some of the pricing in the Crown Store, at the end of the day, it's all just fluff. It's cosmetic pixels! Sheesh! I don't really need any of this stuff. But, I still like to support the game, so in exchange, I get Crowns to exchange for digital goods to make me feel happy.

As to the OP, just remember, the crates are designed to generate revenue - period. They are not designed to give players what they want unless they spend a lot of money. Sure, some people will get lucky and get exactly what they want early on, but for every one of those...

The gems were already a concession to the initial complaints about these crates. They weren't part of the system initially. So, if it had launched as initially on PTS, there wouldn't be a way to convert all the junk or duplicates in the first place (iirc - maybe the gems were already there but just for duplicate collectibles).

And, I recall seeing at least a few posts from people after the first crate season claiming that they were able to get everything they wanted as the last things they needed they just bought with gems. After two seasons, they then of course introduced items that you can only get from the crates themselves, presumably because people weren't spending as much as ZOS would like. Just be glad you can exchange all the consumables and duplicates.
