Is there any reason Crystals Frags cannot proc itself?

I understand it states any 'other' magicka ability and I personally still use the ability in PVE because it's too bad ass not to.

However I feel that throwing the frag as it does still cost magicka, should potentially have the chance to proc another frag.
This would open up the sorcerer force pulse rotation to potentially more frags, utilizing their passives for group play and class abilities more frequently.

I don't think the chance or dmg needs to change, however being granted that small chance to get some double frags in a rotation could be nice and also help slightly with magicka sustain as a proc does cost less than force pulse.

Thoughts?

Because there’s too much of a chance of endless proc’d frags especially in pvp. The proc chance is quite high and stringing 3-4 or these together would be the deadliest burst in the game.

Ok ok, yeah I wasn't really sure how it'd pan out in PVP. Not really sure it would make or break PVP as you don't necessarily spam frags to proc more. The chance of it happening once from the frag isn't a whole lot different than if you were spamming your shield. I feel it would mainly affect pve with spam abilities.

As much as I would like this, I think I agree with the other posters here in that it would increase the potential burst damage too much. Mag Sorcs have good damage already, but it would be over the top if they're able to throw in an extra proc'd frag or two.

I'm on the fence now. Miats add-on makes Frags miss to much, making Frags proc on itself might balance it back a bit.

I just know there's a lot of times doing my rotation where I get 0 frags and sometimes it's every other.

The fact it costs about 400-500 less than force pulse makes it a little easier on sustain and utilises such a great part of the sorc kit.

I don't have interest in overpowering sorcs in pvp in any way, I didn't think it would make too much change if you aren't doing a straight pve rotation based on the % chance.

It's always a possibility to make the base attack proc frags, but prevent the procced attack from proccing itself again. At that point it's about the same DPS as a Destro staff, right?

No-one uses the hard cast. The point being, the proc is a magicka ability that costs, that has a GCD. I don't see why the proc shouldn't proc itself. This was a thread intended for pro's and cons.
