MagBlade or StamBlade

I'm good at both, I enjoy both, and I can make both work in PvE. So from a PvP perspective I'd like opinions along with what people things strengths and weaknessss are

Stamblade

I keep sticking to stamblade. I keep meaning to give magblade more of a shot, though. Just cant find how i want to do it.

EDIT: To add to that, I feel like I prefer my Vigor and Rally heals over what I have access to as magicka

Magblade;

Strengths; Really good AoE for group/single player play, very fast mobility using Cloak/Conseal/Vampire passives, can be built to 'ultimate bomb' tightly packed enemy players, can be run as a bomber or single-target DPS.

Weakness; Single-Target focused Magblade has a very high L2P ceiling, learning to proc the Assassin's Will Bow for Burst takes time to learn. Magblade is also really squishy as they typically run Light armor if they're going to DPS in PvP. So it cannot afford to get taken out of stealth.

Stamblade;

Strengths; Some of the best Single-Target DPS in PvP with Incap/Suprise Attack,Ambuish(and Mages Light for Empowering attacks out of stealth), has good mobility with shuffle/ForwardMomentum/Blur/Bow passives + roll dodge.

Weakness; Stamblade can really only be played as a single-target DPS if you're dpsing, its got really weak AoE and little to no group utility making him mostly a gank exclusive class. Outside of the odd-ball build, StamBlade also has a pretty high L2P ceiling due to having to learn how to deal with various situations, and when to engage/disengage targets without dying. Knowing the Stamblade rotation and how to pick targets to burst requires good timing and awareness-- not too different form how MagBlade single-target DPS works.

After reading, seeing the mag sorc option made me lol pretty hard. In all honesty mag sorcs have never once been in a bad spot as far as balance goes, over the last 42 months.

I see MagBlade as more well rounded that Stamblade. Stamblade can be very successful in PvP, but only with a very specific build and rotation. That is my impression anyway.

Magblade can be good in PvP as well, but seems to have a performance cap against certain builds. My magblade is built for PvE and I can win fights.

I have played both. I prefer magblade for general PvE gameplay (dungeons and the like), but the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood stuff is obviously better with a stamblade.

Mag sorc option was just a joke. Honestly I hate mag sorc. It doesn't entertain me nearly as much and in a way I kinda suck at it

I play both in pve and pvp but I prefer my stamina nightblade in pvp over the magica one. Don't know why but I feel a lot more sneaky as stamina and that's fun I guess

Nice Thing about magicka is nearly endless cloak and the huge amount of self healing it has. Add on resto ult and I am a regenerative god for a time

Weak AoE? You're not playing one right then. Endless Hail, Steel Tornado, Deadly Cloak, and Caltrops (if you PvP). Mobs die FAST...Also, Deadly Cloak provides 25% damage reduction from AoE attacks...

For Stamblade, DW/Bow is the BiS setup...At least for PvE.

Anyone have a basic magblade PvP build that would be best for beginner? I do like the mobility in stealth and amount of cloaking. I want to give it more of a go.

I meant PvP for that post. Those AoE's you mentioned are close to useless in PvP.

If you like bombing, go mNB.

Pros

• you can cloak forever
• you can use concealed weapon without 2nd thoughts
• you can use several setups depending on what you like and be efficient as well

Cons

• You are not mSorc

Both. One of the only classes that where both stam and magicka builds are viable in vet trials ( Dps wise that is )
