Title says it all. I can't tell you how many experienced Day 1 / Veteran PVP'ers I know only play this game for BG's. Anyone else?

This is the only reason I even purchased the game, the hope that a small scale arena or battleground based combat would be introduced. I waited until the minute the reddit Q&A launched to ask about this, and now that it's finally here, it's being severely threatened by the idea of adding a largely unbalanced CP system in to the most competitive platform this game has ever had.

This isn't your cp 250 players pleading to rethink the decision to add CP in to the game. These are people who have been waiting for a change of pace in the competitive atmosphere of PvP after 2+ years of cyrodill. Now that we have that, it needs to be built on, not completely scrapped and force CP on us.

As Loko stated, this is easily the only reason myself and many of my guild members even still play the game. I can go in cyrodill and throw around my CP against inferior opponents coupled with my years of experience and absolutely dominate. This lost its allure with me almost a year ago. I can't imagine even a reason someone sub CP cap would think to go in to battlegrounds if this goes live.

Please, please, please don't force CP on battlegrounds.

Each to their own - been playing for 2 years and have no interest in BG.
Never been in vMA, never even tried to get Emp, never tried a vet trial - still enjoy the game most of the time.

    I AM WITH YOU..

CP is terrible. I play a Concussion Build Magik DK, most people probably don't even know what that is because "it isn't META"... I used to love it in CP, but now I can't keep up with the sheild stackers unless I sell out my DPS and I have no desire to be in those 20 minute 1 v 1's where no one dies, which is what CP has become.

In battlegrounds, I can kill anyone... I die too, sometimes quickly if I play poorly. -- But that is what the game used to be about, before they ruined it and forced people to essentially zerg just to kill one guy

oh yea, I have 770 CP, all the gear I want, all the in game money I need......... I just want a combat game worth playing again

I hate CP pvp, and was looking for BG for a long time, however (not even mentioning terrible start for 7 weeks), now me and my group still plays only Cyro, because when we run BG full pre made it's just too easy, steam rolling through all the game modes and players. No adrenaline, if you know what I mean. So in the end smallscalers still geting zerged down by 20+ on a resource, but when you can handle it, getting a feeling which BG can't give you :p

I agree, that switching to CP for battlegrounds is an odd step. It's going to wreck the fast paced nature of the game, and it's attraction over Cyrodiil.

The point i make is CP won't bring droves of people into BG now. Sure people were put off on launch but if you fancy BG by now you would have adapted and be playing them. Ut it could put off current players.

Don't get me wrong i love the appeal of CP, my main feels awesome with those stats, and i think it's right more levelled characters have an advantage over lower in some circumstances but for BG pop, and gameplay how it is now is cool.

@Lexxypwns makes an astute point however, as always, if Non-CP pop was up in Cyro this would be a mute point.

Problem on Xbox EU is everyone is in Vivec. And the teams that fancy something else.are now spread between too many servers. They either need to shut a couple till next PvP event, or spice em up with. Different ruleset or gameplay or something to separate them. Maybe one becomes Imp City only i dunno.

Ok, I'm going to give an example of why no-CP is superior to CP for BGs. Last night I was running BGs and after a DM where a particular sorc got 25 kills off less than 500k damage I got matched up against that same sorc in another DM and decided to focus him. Now, this sorc was very bad and every time I encountered him he died in under 30 seconds. After that match we both happened to be at the dueling spot in wayrest. He challenges me and we proceed to have a couple duels, all of which last 3+ minutes. In either environment he never applied nearly enough pressure or burst to be threatening and was equally bad at managing his buffs and shields. Then my queue pops and would ya know it, that sorc again, dusted him quickly every encounter.

Now, 30 seconds is a reasonable TTK if you want fast paced combat, 3 minutes is not. This is what the CP system does.

Glass half full here...the change from siphoner in CP that is going to be changed from 15% to 25% is a step in the right direction for CP being added to BGs but there's still a lot of work that would need to be done to make this actually a viable and competitive format.

Siphoner is only ever going to be good for eating up purges as long as it only last 1-2 regen ticks. It's impossible to balance though since if it's too long it's too empowering for groups outnumbering their opponents.

@Lexxypwns If only man. If we could get a large group or a few zergs to at least migrate to the non-cp campaign we would have more of an incentive for them to keep no-cp BG's.

I feel like it is a loss though, those severs are dead. No one actually likes non-cp PVP except for the people who are veterans or lowbies. It is a shame, I really hope they don't finalize the decision yet.

I play BGs because it lets me test builds in a relatively good environment - and without CP. So I know that if the build works in there, it's most likely working good on CP-campaigns as well, sustain-wise.

I like BGs. They're a nice distraction when other campaigns are unplayable.

Agreed. 2.5 years in Cyrodiil will take a lot out of you. I have no interest in PVE yet I've done 90% of it due to gear necessities.

PVP is the lifeline of many veteran players. It is just a shame no one has an interest in non-cp on my platform (xbox.)

I want to like BGs. But too many of the modes are filled with mechanics that I understand many players enjoy, but to me feel like gimmicks. I don't want to chase a McGuffin Chaos Ball or Relic or Sigil, I don't want to capture flags, and I don't want to implement winning strategies that avoid fighting other players -- I want to use my character abilities, personal skill, and environmental awareness to kill other players. The vast majority of content in BGs just distracts from that, in my experience.

    Love this.
If they go forward with CP bgs, only capped players will be able to play effectively, otherwise you're disadvantaged. So someone who is CP 250 literally can't queue for BGs without being a detriment to their team

BG'a are dead place now anyway. On PC EU leaderboard usually is closed by someone with score You can get in 10 hours of doing BG's so it means even less then 100 players playing it regularly. Fail with group finder at the beggining , not entirely working idea of 4v4v4 and ballance issues killed this place and it's now hard to rebuild it's potential. I think like the decision to make BG's with CP was maded to try increase BG's population because without changes this content will simply die so after seeing how populated CP Cyrodill is Zenimax decided to make BG's CP also.

Battlegrounds were the only reason that I bought Morrowind and came back to the game, but absurdly short Time-To-Kill eventually ruined it for me. The 8-11k damage Incapacitating Strikes were probably the biggest offender, but that was hardly the only problem. And this isn't just a case of, "oh no I died, nerf the other guy!" either - I could blow people up ridiculously fast on several of my own characters as well.

If we view TTK as a continuum, with a Grandmaster Chess Match on one end and a First Person Shooter on the other, I think that the current (at least, as of a month ago when I was actively playing) BG system is much too far towards the FPS end of things. Allowing CP may flip it around too much in the other direction, but that's not even my biggest concern right now.

I'm somewhere around 595 CP myself, which puts me ~95 short of the upcoming cap...an annoying deficiency, but it probably won't make that much of a difference unless it's a really close fight. But what about the new'ish players? Being ~500 CP short of the cap is just ridiculous, and way too much of an advantage for the long-timers.

If I were looking at getting into ESO for the first time, and fully understood just how much of a horrendously boring PvE grind it was to get to the CP cap, I'd pass over the game for sure. How much time should one be expected to spend doing PvE before they can possibly become competitive in the one type of PvP that interests them?

ZOS needs to at least implement some kind of "template" system for CP in PvP. Give everyone a separate "CP in PvP" menu, where they can spend points up to the cap - even if they're not actually at the cap - and have that template be in effect whenever they enter a PvP area. If such a system is put in place, we'll at least have everyone on an equal footing, and be able to see just how CP functions in Battlegrounds (my estimation is that it'll be really bad, but at least it's equally bad for everyone then).
