Furnishing and placing items

Hey guys I bought hundings hall when homestead came out but I haven't really started furnishing it yet, when I placed paintings and monster busts sometimes they would go behind the wall and I never quite learned how to place things so they're in line or flush against the wall. Is there a tutorial?

Also I'm considering buying a manor if I can get good at this furnishing business, right now it's painstaking hard trying to line up everything straight and flush. It bothers me if I have things not uniform and looking neat.
What manor is the biggest? I think the one in craglorn certainly looks the largest.

If something disappears behind a wall, just use the retrieval tab in your housing editor.
