How I Would Fix PvP, How would you?

All it would take..

1) Reduce the effects of Champion Points across the board by 75%.
2) Take all base damage from skills and weapons (not Procs or Ult's) and increase it by 33%.

That is it. (LOL, seriously I have 755 CP. Have been playing this game since launch, way way too much. Spent a lot of $$, and am really not happy with the past year in contrast to the first one)


Note: I really have grown to hate CP. Sheild Stacking Sorcs, No Death Build Tanks, 90% of the population playing like one of three or four builds. I understand there will always be Meta, and I am cool with that- but not to the point where it feels almost hopeless to even want to do something slightly different. Which is how I feel on 7 of my 9 toons right now.

    I mean, there is a non CP campaign. So I don't see your point. Hame nobody on Xbox EU plays it as I would play that probably.

    PvP needs a lot of stuff to be close to fixed.

    Best solution would be to remove CP combat related passives and replace them with customization passives. But that aint gonna happen cause PVE players will riot unless they do it smoothly like replacing one passive every patch and adjust the content accordingly.

    The other solution is softcaps in battle spirit to keep builds in check.

    Make eye of the storm non stackable and remove damage mitigation from being in a group. Make point ticks every 10 or 15 minutes. So objectives are more important.

    I think its less balance, and more stale.

    Same map, same objectives for how many years? I wonder if there could be changes made to cyrodiil itself to spice things up.. perhaps make the campaigns all shorter - 7-day - but have the 'game-type' change after each 7 days..

    We can keep the current version as is to be one of the game-types. Others can (should) be changed to spread people out more.. Perhaps have one to make keeps un-capturable (they are just spawn-points) - and spread them all-over the map for each faction, allowing ports to any owned keep regardless of whether a link exists - and perhaps make the mundus's/aylied wells/outposts/villages the things that need to be taken.. perhaps tie EMP to one type (mundus's perhaps) - and much more campaign points to the others..

    Have one where the only way into Cyro from the zoning-in keeps is to port to a 'ring keep'. The campaign starts with each faction owning 2 ring keeps each (ie the current emp-ring). these cannot be lost - but mix it. DC has, say Ales and Alessia. EP has Ash and BRK, AD has the other two.. then its a fight in 3 directions from there out towards the scrolls...

    I'm sure there could be plenty of other idea's/modes that can effectively use the same map - but just in very different ways/places...

    Get rid of all weapon ults and make it so you can only receive heals from one player every four seconds to nerf the healing templar zergs also make sheilds critable then pvp would be 100% more Balanced

    AOE caps, get rid of them. Entirely.

    That's two things I'd change instantly which would drastically improve combat and not allow potatoes to just stack and hope for the best.

    The biggest problem (outside of performance which is just awful) is how stale it is. I break down wall, kill people, break another wall, stand on a flag. The only thing they added in Cyrodiil was town flags. More flags, for something utterly pointless. They hold no real bearing. Bruma is the only semi relevant one.

    Add something so people fight elsewhere. Some random events periodically at random points on the map. It would create unique encounters on varied terrain and locations. 90% of the map is unused. It's just straight line mentality.

    IC is a joke. Honestly, adding gold tempers would help hugely. It would get people there. Even if it it brought PVErs in to farm. People would go there to take their stones. Guess what, people from every faction would do it. They'd end up fighting each other. Cyrodiil makes them no money. I get that. IC could, so there lack of ambition for it baffles me. They tried to add life by..... Adding more flags. Flags flags flags flags. That's all PvP is.

    Class balance is way down the priority list imo. I don't even care about that when I have zero motivation to even PvP anymore.

    I'd like to have an objectives only campaign where you get no AP from kills, just from taking and defending keeps. And heavily reduce the AP from resource captures, or increase the cooldown, to stop flipping being too common. Personally I think AP farmers ruin the idea of Cyrodiil for me but I completely appreciate that some people just want to fight and aren't really interested in objectives.
    Then have another campaign for combat only, kind of like an Anything Goes campaign. Keep captures and defends wouldn't give many AP but you would get them from kills. The main incentive for holding keeps would be for mobility and to retreat to.
    Haven't really thought about how this would all work but I do like the idea of a dedicated campaign for objectives.

    My other idea is to do with the Emperor mechanics. When an alliance takes the last keep needed for Emperor, the highest ranked player still alive inside the keep and at the flags becomes Emperor, rather than the person with the most points in that alliance.

    One change already done. Armor skills require 5/5.

    Other things to do

    Add softcaps
    Remove aoe cap
    Increase tent spawn to 10 minutes
    Increase block cost after x seconds of continuous blocking.
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Have more creative campaigns:

    30 Day No Doors, No Siege.

    7 day No CP with all Keep, Scroll, and Emp bonuses doubled as negative penalties.

    24 hour Bonus Keeps (Brindle/Dragon/Drake worth x30 score; but only if they're not a home keep.)

    The campaign structure actually lends itself pretty well to allowing different game modes (not necessarily my terrible comedy ideas) but for whatever reason ZOS has decided not to innovate or alter Campaign rules in over 3 years. I mean they changed all the campaigns to no CP for that pre-Morrowind double AP event, so we know it's possible they could alter camps with different setups if they desired.

    How would I fix PVP? I'd sit down with both 'combat' & 'pvp' guys, bring on board a bunch of good PVP'ers that I'm sure would help free of charge, and then roll out one thing at a time, in addition to working on a whole PVP-related update, or maybe a chapter too.

    Total revitalization of Cyrodiil, Imperial City, Battlegrounds and a PVP arena. Dueling can be kept as it is, as practice for any of those.

    Also, when bringing in PVP'ers to consult with, I'd make sure they're not the ones that run in zergy trains or huge ballgroups, and it has to be experienced players with lots of play time on their hands. Just 10-20 of those would do with nice long voice comm sessions, and/or videos demonstrating all the problems that players run into, that they definitely shouldn't.

    It goes without saying that every ability and passive would be looked into, all armor combos and overpowered combos in general, not a single thing would go by unnoticed on my team. ;)

    I would separate PVE and PVP. All skills would have a base PVP or PVE function and morphs OR once in battle spirit all skills would revert to their PVP equivalent. This way you could tailor classes easier to each game type. I do not think CP would really be an issue if this was done.

    Star with locking factions by account on a campaign by campaign basis. The *** that's happening nowadays...today is an example...makes it likely one of the largest AD guilds will be leaving the game within 30 days. People jumping on one faction to crown emp and then brutalizing the map is NOT fun for ANYONE and it's happening EVERY *** DAY NOW. Campaigns are manipulated by cross campaign jumpers who totally skew the result of a hard fought 30 day campaign. BAH! But ZOS just keeps raking in the dough by selling bookcases and flower pots for stupid ass houses...so it's all good right?

    Short list of a few things i have would beeee

    1. Account specific factions. Put an End to wishy washy faction swapping

    2. Add meaningful Campaign games. Certain keeps add more AP per person killed or certain keeps mean more points ect ect. GET PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE EMP CIRCLE.

    3. CHANGE YOU API so people cant have Add-ons that allow players an advantage over others.

    4. Rework of the Damage mitigation system (blocks and Dodges) maybe add poisons were your blocks and Dodge cost 200% or something to that effect

    5. Make siege Weapons hit a tad harder. I feel like we are back to the days of just standing in them and just spam heals. if we need a Longer cast time for the added damage that would be fine i think if you are standing in siege it needs to hurt.

    hire a new dev team who is only responsible for pvp and require that they also play their own game at a good lvl

    Easy way to fix pvp, make it stable. Im sick and tired of random disconnects, when every player on screen just stand there doing nothing, you know ctrl-alt-del and force quit the game is the only way to go or else you get log-out and have to queue again. Im writing this comment while my game load again after my 7nt dissconnect this evening. I like pvp-ing in eso, but my gawd its frustrating to always have to relog because of dissconnect or endless loading screen

    In terms of mechanics, I would remove CP in all pvp campaigns, prevent players from faction swapping, remove animation cancelling, close or open servers to facilitate a healthy population per server, and improve the stability/lag/responsiveness of servers.
