telvanni master wizard costume obtainable through crown store is dissapointin, should have been motif

Edit: since every rare obtainable item gets released in the crown store for easy access (arminger motif, large homes, identical costumes) we should get the armor as a motif available in game it's only fair.

2002: explore all of morrowind for morrowind styles daedric armor, and only 1 or two pieces exist at a time

2017: take out your credit card and get full styled morrowind daedric armor

Now I don't care if someone buys bouyant arminger or akavari motif etc with a credit card, but the fact that the morrowind styled daedric armor hunt was reduced to a credit card transaction is horrible. You had to kill davayth fyr and ruin the main quest in the original morrowind, or explore all of morrowind and be rewarded with daedric armor

Pros of being a master crafter questline reward: the questions won't go away and it is relatively easy to max out a crafting profession.

Pros of it being a crown store exclusive: will be a high quality item so will sell for a high price for about 2 days and be gone forever, untill it returns to a crown crate. Or it will be a crown crate exclusive and cost a huge amounts to get

To make it rare but not bouyant arminger rare but not common enough so you can't buy it for 500 gold and call it a day please offer this through a questline that opens it up when you reach max rank in a crafting profession. And having 50 per skills (blacksmithing, clothing, enchanting) will make the quest shorter for you.

The quest concept: davayth fyr has noted your crafting professioncy and will offer you a chance to bend a daedra's will into a armor shape worthy of a telvanni master. The quest will take you into the process of binding the blood of lorkhan and forcing a daedra to shape into a telvanni shaped daedric armor.
This will explore how a daedra is made and offer a questline for characters who have maxed out their crafting professions. What this does is elimate the rng factor and as long as a character is professient in crafting that will be able to obtain the costume

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @Lawrence_Schick please don't add this as a limited crown store item and offer this as a questline you can pickup and craft this ourselves. Give something crafters can enjoy

Morrowind handed out Daedric like "a participation trophy?" Really? There was one piece where there was only one available in the entire base game. (Of course, the bigger problem was that wearing all Deadric would have made it impossible to pick up much more than a single comberry before becoming over-encumbered.)

Guys, it is easy to max out atleast one of the professions (blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking) to be able to quest for it. If we lock it away as a crown store exclusive it takes away the acomplishment of crafting it yourself and limited time crown items are not good. A costume of this quality would either only be available for 2 days for an insane price or be locked behind a crown crate.

People like @alcast have nice guides to help max out your professions

Can assure you it will be 1500+ crowns or 100 gems because the normal telvanni robe is 1000 crowns...but I do like your ideas and wish they put it in a quest.

In daggerfall people had daedric gear in their cupboards, you could just break into a house and get it. This will be a costume though and probably cost something around 1500-2000 crowns if I were to guess. It's way too popular to just be handed out with a quest.

I think all Crown Store items should have an in-game acquisition path, even if they are tedious and grindy. An item in a game shouldn't be exclusive only because it cost a lot of dollars.

And you could actually sell the items to merchants because they had infinite gold instead of the measly 1000+ gold merchants have in the later games.

I'm going to bet that this is going to be one of the rewards for the main quest line or some achievement linked with Dyvath Fyr.

Btw, why would you want to tie a costume to crafting? It doesn't make any sense. Its not a motif, its a costume.

OP contradicts himself saying it’s easy to max out a profession (which it is) and then saying not everyone is a master crafter (which isn’t hard to do if you really want to).

I agree crafters should be thrown a bone, but a costume isn’t what’s needed. I rather think OP wants the costume for free out of emotional attachment.

atleast the costume would be earned ingame by earning it with a master crafter, rather than a credit card transaction. and I cant make it to hard or I will be accused of elitism lol

I'm getting really *** off with microtransactions. I understand its the nature of the beast now but they are anything but micro in price.

    Micro

    adjective
    1.
    extremely small.

Take the Midnight Stag, 4000 crowns. That converts to $28 or £21. Nothing about paying £21 is micro. I have no problem spending £5 per mount, outfit - whatever, to support a game I like but not when you guys are ripping the *** out of consumers who genuinely care about the game and want to support it.

Minimum wage in the UK is £7.50, is a mount in a game really worth 3 hours wages?

Eventually it is going to backfire when consumers get sick of this disgusting and exploitative practise. Coupled with the ridiculous price, you guys then stick it on for a couple days to pressure people into buying it. Its immoral.

I do want to stress because this is a pretty negative post, that I do like ESO a lot and have got hours of enjoyment out of it. Moreover, i have no issue supporting a game but the shady practises of hiding the actual cost behind a make believe currency, inflating the cost and then sticking a timer to pressure folk into impulse purchasing is extremely scummy. Its also the result of my growing hatred of micro-transactions in general in games (as in them being crudely forced in).

ZOS, hold yourself to a higher standard and make the microtransactions genuinely micro.

I sold daedric and ebony items for full price. Just took some creative buying and selling with Creeper and Drunken Mudcrab Merchant. Bought alchemy ingredients in lots of a thousand, ebony or glass arrows in batches of 500.... without resorting to console commands. Just took time.

While I agree that it should have been put into the game rather than be a Crown Store item (let alone one with a limited availability), putting it behind writs would have been a terrible idea. If anything, it should have been a reward for finishing the Clockwork City DLC (since you got Kurog's armor after finishing Orsinium).

Lorewise in 2002 Morrowind you didn't have the innumerable Daedric invasions that you did in Oblivion and ESO.
I imagine that several mages and/or crafters took advantage of all those daedra corpses with armor and weapons strewn about and said "eh, why not?" I may be using my imagination here, but based off what mages, wizards, alchemists, blacksmithers, etc.... come up with anyway in lore, its not really far reaching.
While it would be nice if something like this was a reward for reaching 9 traits in crafting, ZOS likes money. This is the reality, unfortunately.

Master crafters should be able to buy more rare motifs with vouchers, not a costume. It would be cool to have it as a reward from finishing Clockwork City.

And for OP's consideration, I've earned my money to buy the costume, and I'll wear it proudly.
