Maintenance for the week of May 25:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – May 27, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EDT (20:00 UTC)
I don't remember any crafted sets that give you + weapon damage as a 2 piece bonus - the best you'll get with 2 pieces is plus crit% or + stamina (which indirectly ups your damage as if it were weapon damage by roughly 1/10th of the stamina value.)
Even the vMA daggers don't really have a 2-piece bonus, it's a one piece bonus and 50% chance of getting that bonus per weapon so if you have two the proc is guaranteed and it's only the daggers have a DW specific bonus. The other 1HD weapons give bonuses to 1HD + Shield. Maelstrom Master weapons are the same: just bonus for 1 and no benefit at all from 2 and only the dagger has a DW benefit. And good luck farming Maelstrom and Dragonstar and getting the drops you want.
Otherwise you usually just want the 2 weapons to be just 2 out the 5 pieces for a set that has a good 5-piece bonus.
leki for the 2 piece
hundings and nightmothers are go to for stam dps. spriggans and two fanged snake if you want more pen. vicious ophidian for more sustain.
A pair of Agility weapons aren't bad either, they give 1400 stamina. Though if you want to know the trick for starting out with lots of easy-to-get buffed set pieces, try using a 5 piece set on your dual wield bar that will activate the 5th piece bonus for some length of time. When you swap to your second weapon bar, you could be swapping to another item or set that will apply a different buff while the dual wield bar buff is still active. Then both 5 piece buffs are active when you swap back to the DW weapon bar.
Nightmothers gaze is a nice crafted set to offer a 5 second buff. Briarheart will buff for 10 seconds. You could, for instance, use 2 night mother's daggers and a Briarheart bow, 4 pieces of Briarheart armor and 3 pieces of night mother's armor, and 3 pieces of Agility jewelry. It all adds up to a large chunk of weapon damage, crit rating, stamina and physical penetration that are active most of the time during battle as long as you swap weapons occasionally.
Why not get crafted weapons of another set you have, or the dropped set you may be using, to replace your shoulder and helm armor and use monster helm sets for the shoulder and helmet?
There's plenty of DPS sets out there. but for dual wield, you want to pick weapons based on what type of build you're doing.
With the twin blade and blunt passive in the DW tree, you get the following bonuses:
Each axe gives your melee attacks a 8% chance to bleed enemies for [x] Physical Damage over 6 seconds.
Each mace causes your attacks to ignore 10% of an enemy's Physical Resistance.
Each sword increases your damage done by 2.5%.
Each dagger increases your Weapon Critical rating. (by 5%)
for my stam DPS, I run the following setups:
5pc Toothrow, 5pc briarheart, 2pc Selene's (single target)
5pc Toothrow, 5pc Syvarra's, 2pc Sellistrix (AOE)
