what if being a vampire gave you access to the vampire cosmetics?

instead of having a set appearance for the various stages.

you look normal at every stage as base (I really don't want to hear how this is unimmersive or effects gameplay or what have you because every skin and in game disguise hides it)

but added to your appearance collection are the various vampire "shaders" (the things that alter various appearances about your character) such as all the stages various skin shades added to skins, the eye collors added as well (same section as the blind eyes etc.)

I think this would appease just about everyone and not require that much effort.

those that want normal appearance can have it, those that want full on vamp as well.

plus we could get some nice variations of skins / eyes / etc. such as normal skin and stage 4 eyes.

I think it would be fun as I really like bits of each stage, I prefer the early pale skin tones, but really like the latter stage eyes.

I love this idea. Brace yourself for all the people who will hate it for absolutely no logical reason or who will say, "But then everyone would be a vampire just to get those cosmetics!"

The only way I'd see them doing this is via the Crown store (costume / disguise ). Too much $$$ to be made.

I'd be content if they'd just leave the visual markings added at character creation alone. Things like tattoos would become more prevalent with faded skin tone, not less.

yup this has to do with the layering that their shaders used or rather the order. as we have seen with the vivec tattoos where they messed up the layer order and I think its the face? or both are ABOVE the vampire layer rather then below and this leads to it having the normal looking appearance.

so clearly something they could do. I doubt its easy, but it is simple.

This is a great idea! Khajiit vampires in particular should NOT change colour! The fur on heads doesn't, so why does their body fur? It would save having to use skins to cover it up. I'd like my cats to continue looking as they always did. (Except my dro m'athra vampire, but he's a different case.)
