How do you actually find items in a guild store.

I have tried finding videos on how to purchase items from a guild store, but I can only find are videos about selling. I would just like to access a guild store to see what they have for sale on specific items such as legs, britches, pants. Every time I try to find something it comes up blank.......empty. Thank you.

I run around like a chicken with my head cut off in what has to be the most infuriating, poorly designed player-based trade system I've ever seen. With no way to search for specific items and no way to see every sale without going to each trader, it's just a chore. There's nothing I hate more about this game than Guild traders. They're the crown jewel of ZOS developer incompetence.

If you are on PC OP, then get the addon Awesome Guild Store, it has search functions tied into the UI, you can get it via Minion, which is probably easier than extracting it manually.

If you are on console, then cannot help sorry.

Ah okey dokey, not sure tbh, works fine for me, find things no problem.

Reset addon search settings in a guild store, then run your search on all, if for some reason it is on clothing for example, then it will not find things from other categories.

This. I get this question a lot with new players and it's usually solved by the simple fact that they didn't know they had to hit the search button first.

Step 1: Actually go to a Guild Trader NPC.

Step 2: Select the categories your intended purchase would fall under.

    Step 3: Search available items.

Step 4: Scan through the list that appears for the specific item you're looking for. If you can't find it, then that Guild isn't selling it at the moment. If nothing appears, then that Guild is probably very empty and barely anything is being sold, or you accidentally selected a search refinement option that doesn't apply to what you're looking for.

Step 5: Repeat process with a different Trader. Rinse. Repeat.

It is very detailed. Hover over each option to be sure about what each option does.
Make sure that you don't have any unnecessary text in the search box.

You can also use the TTC website to search for items and it will tell you what trader and how long since last seen there.

This allows you to use their data without uploading your own.

I generally don't bother, to be honest. You can tell it's a terrible trading system just by the fact that most players here are referring you to third party websites. If I can't loot it or craft it, I do without.

It's high time the trading system was improved (and no, not necessarily with an auction house) so that everyone can use it to buy and sell with maximum convenience from within the game and without addons which are not available to the majority of players.

Fully agree, implement the filters from awesome guild stores into the interface.
I would add another option, click on item in your inventory to filter on it, for set items it would default search for the set so you can filter more filters like just divine boots of set.
Like awesome guild stores it should also have search history so you can do multiple searches at multiple traders.

Grinding just make you go in circles.

keep scrolling. it doesn't remove items that don't fit the parameters of search, just hides them. it can only do so much with api that it has to use. so just hit next page until you either find an item or see that its no listed in that particular store.

edited to add. if you are going to use TTC to narrow down the places where you are going to go search - at the top of the search results, you can sort by most recently listed. anything that hasn't been updated for 12 hours or longer, stands a good chance of no longer being available, especially if its at a particularly low price. more in demand items like crafting mats are likely going to be gone even if last seen says "now", unless the listing price is high of course.

shopping in ESO is.... painful. even with addons etc. and incidentally, this awful AWFUL trading system is the number one reason why I'm never EVER playing this game on a console. well.. maybe if everything that addons do - becomes baseline in the UI. but... I highly doubt that it will.

It's not even that bad on console. Just go to Mournhold, Elden Root or any other capital. You'll find 99% of the items you'd be looking for in about 10 minutes.

Now if you're looking for deals, that's a different story, but finding things isn't all that tough.

If your getting no results, your Filters are too narrow.

    1. Always make sure you clear any existing filters before making a new set
    2. If your getting no results and you think you should, like you have no filters, then do a /reloadui
    3. If the Guild Trader inventory is small, say 100 items or less, most filters are going to return nothing of interest. Best then to just browse the listings unfiltered if your shopping
    4. There is an option in the Addon to automatically load the next page if no results are returned, make sure you have that selected. Or just click the next page.*
    5. If your looking for something you know is expensive, then click on the top of the price column to sort descending. This way your not loading dozens of pages with nothing to see wading your way to what you want.
    6. With Filters, less is usually more. I put in the minimum amount of filters and then narrow choices with the Text feature to filter by name.

*AGS still pulls the full listings from the store, it only filters the results that you see, hence the string of empty pages when you have filters.

The basic interface is utter crap. If you are on PC use Master Merchant addon that shows you the average price of an item based on sales in your guild and Awesome Guild Store that provides many extra filters. If you are searching for motifs, recipes and blueprints there's actually a tick box that allows you to filter out known ones. There's also a price filter that takes the MM average and lets you filter out items with excessive prices.

Those addons worked well for me over the last months for me so probably the guild you are searching in doesn't have the right items. Just try more of them. Sometimes I had to search in all town hubs for a motif page.
