Keyboards for PS4

My first time back to the game since text chat and just curious what you guys are using for typing. I see you can do it with the app on your phone, wireless or wired keyboard or one of those chat pads that connect to the controller.

Curious on how the controller text pads work and what you guys prefer, thx

I got just a cheap logitech usb keyboard. Any wireless usb works fine with the ps4.

I tried the chatpad for the Xbox One gamepad for PC before. Yes it works, but the buttons were too stiff and small to be that useful for chat. It seems like a "no other option" last resort thing.

I say, use gamepad for playing and keyboard for chat since that is what both were made for.
I do use a wireless keyboard for my PC and it works great for chat.

I know. I'm not on PS4, but if you can get the same setup to work you should be similarly happy.

I really would like some push to talk voice to text ability though. Especially such an ability that wouldn't lock my character in chat unable to attack or move like currently happens.

Well, technological limitations aside. I hope for that tech to come relatively soon to games because typing is tedious with lots of typos and yet I don't want the overhead in my bandwidth for voice chat or for others to hear me anyway. It satisfies both speed and privacy requirements.

I've a cheap logitech usb keyboard but its got a decent cable length so can reach the sofa.

I've tried a couple different solutions and so far a Bluetooth keyboard has worked the best for me. I'm currently using a Logitech K380, I think I got it for less than $30 on amazon.
